Re: Best movies of 2009
Only four movies I've seen that have come out this year are inglorious bastards, the hangover, up, and avatar.
Avatar looked cool, but bored my to death, not to mention the laughably shitty dialogue.
The Hangover was pretty funny, I loved inglorious bastards, and up was actually surprisingly good.
However, my best movie for 2009 is the Godfather, which I happened to see for the first time just a few weeks ago. I don't know how a movie that came out over 30 years ago can easily top 90% of the shit that comes out today... The scene where Michal is grabbing the gun in the bathroom was literally the first movie is ages to get my blood racing and my heart pumping. No movie has ever drawn me in like that before... Most of the time when I watch a movie, to keep myself interested I try to predict plot twists/who dies, didn't happen during the Godfather. The movie pulled my in for the whole time, much easier then Avatar or any other new movie.

Inglorious basterds sucked sooo many balls...horrible storyline...or rather, horribly played out.

Inglorious Basterds is overrated plain and simple. It was an ok movie, but nothing that blew your mind like some people seem to think.
Rather watch the 1978 film " The Inglorious Basterds " again.
I didn't really see anything that great this year.

The dialogue and acting was as good as it could have been in Inglorious Basterds but Tarantino needs to check himself. When you have 2 scenes of people sitting at tables taking up 2/3 of your ACTION MOVIE you have a problem. The movie seemed less like an attempt to make a really good movie and more like Tarantino trying to show off.
