Meh, it's just my personality. I love Snopes.com and busting urban legends and other shit collected by email chain letters.

This story has some elements of truth... maybe. It is possible that Pershing did indeed do this in the Philippines. The stories are largely apocryphal, but they could still have elements of truth to them. There is no evidence that US troops are actually doing this, nor that it was ever advocated seriously by anyone in the military.

I don't really care to offer my opinions on the issue, I just enjoy determining the truthfulness of the story.

For all of us Pork Lovin guys its a great story ! I think they should replace cosmoline with pork fat :9 If they slather pig fat on the bullets .......then they will lubricate the barrel as well as send the Infidels to Hell ! Its a win win ! :9

We should announce to all Islam the following:

"If another attack occurs that is provably performed by extremists of the Muslim faith, we will drop 50-gallon drums of pigs' fat on all the roads/paths that lead to Mecca. This should encourage the good Muslims to aid the civilized world in bringing the bad Muslims to JUSTICE. As I understand it, ALL Muslims must make a trip in their lifetime to pray at the site known as Mecca. I believe that trip would be hard to do if they knew it was over pig blood-covered paths.

texas is over run with ferril hogs, we capture and ship over to them... they can reproduce and cover the whole country with pigs. Now to find documents showing this was the millitary's idea and send them to ABC to really help get the rumor going...
