shitty car ignition

So for the past few days, my ignition has been giving me hell. For some reason whenever I put the car in park and try to shut off the car and pull the key out, it won't come out. There are 3 options (like every car) for the ignition, first notch is the minor electronics...compass/radio/odometer...the second notch is everything electrical....final twist turns the car on.

And whenever I go to pull out my key, it keeps getting stuck in the first notch...I did some research and found a little hole below my ignition that I have to stick a small pointy object into, and it unlocks the key...now I either get to do that, or I get to spend 400$ on a new gear selector and ignition...fml

Yeah I got the key out, but it took me like a half hour to find the information...so until then I had the battery disconnected so I didn't drain it.

buy a new ignition switch, autozone has them for like $20 to $30 bucks, and really simple to change out. on some cars you dont even have to pull the steering wheel off, it has the instructions in the box

pull the ignition wire it to a button hidden under the dash... then hang two wires out and freak friends out by telling them you stole it and then 'hot wire' it by pushing the button, gotta fake the wire thing to sell it though

As fun as that sounds I'm going to have to pass...me and car electronics do not mix very well....take for example how the my hatch on the back opens every time I unlock my car...from the drivers side....ever since my friend wired my new radio in.
