Thread: New Axe!

Nice tele, I have one exactly like it but broke the neck . Looking to getr fixed some time soon, till then my cheap ass epiphone les will have to tide me over.

Hmm, cheap ass epiphone less. You know that Epiphone was once the best acoustic guitar ever made? Then Gibson bought them out. They still make them here the last time I checked. It's like the MIM Fenders if it don't cost a bunch of money and doesn't say made in the USA it is nothing but crap. I have been in many bands and played alot of different guitars in my 48 years and that thinking still gets me. I have a Strat I just built using an after market Alder body a set of after market single coils and a MIM neck(prices of USA Fender necks are more than a guitar) that I bought off Ebay that sounds better and plays better than any factory Strat I have ever played with the exception of one that our high school stage band had that was a MIJ model. This MIM neck I used is a 60th aniversery deluxe model with rosewood fretboard and it's smoother and faster than the neck on my high Dollar ass USA Gibson Les Paul and my dads USA made Tele. One of the sales guys at one of the Guitar Center stores said lately even the USA Fenders are getting rougher.

I know what you mean Iron about buying for feel and not name. The last two Strats I have bought I built and came out with much better guitars than buying them whole. My next will be probably a Tele to build.
