shoot, I just found out yesterday from a co-worker that after pearl harbor, the japs were sending helium balloons that were carrying bombs. Had they known that they were making it to Hawaii they might have sent one with a nuke....

LOL Actually JMW none of those "balloon bombs" ever made it to Hawaii however they did land on the west coast in Oregon and Washington and I think the furthest one traveled was found in Idaho. But because they were launched at the time of the year when the northwest was the wettest with rain these bombs were ineffective.

I heard that that was exactly what our government wanted our people to think so when Japan got news that their balloons were successful then they would have started sending them with nukes. I heard they stopped sending them because they assumed they weren't making it over here since the US was keeping it hush hush. I heard this from a co-worker who's from Hawaii. I suppose he could be making it up, though I wouldn't know why...
