Church
This is not a thread to debate if there is a god or not I am just curious how many members actually show up to church on a regular basis. I did make a option for all the others who do not believe in God. That way you can still participate in the vote.
Growing up I was raised in a Catholic household and was even altar boy at one time.......and no the priest never pulled any bullshit. I was eventually was made a confirmed catholic in my teens.
The from about the age of 18-28 I rarely attended church but would pray from time to time. Now that my kids are getting older they are starting to ask questions. Even though I dont agree 100% with the catholic church I now currently attend with my family.
That way the kids can get the same xp I did when growing up. Then when they reach of age they can choose their own beliefs.
yes, xp.

I have trouble agreeing with the catholic church and organized religion in general, but I (mostly....) believe in God. I'm pretty confused in the area actually. I was raised catholic but never confirmed, I go to church every sunday at the very least it makes Mom happy.

I was raised going to church every Sunday and Thrusday and bible study on Tuesday. Once I was out of my dads house I stopped going (that's right his house his rules). I never really want to go back to church because I do not believe in a God. But since I've been married, my wife claims she is a christian, but I know more about the teachings of Jesus and the bible than she ever has, she wants to go to church.
At first it was to go to Easter Mass then she didn't want to wake up in the morning. Once our daughter was born the wife wanted to go more. So I said, sure I'll go. Just pick any church you want and I'll go. She has yet to pick one out. I understand how much a church can do for a person. So I'm all for it. Even though I disagree with everything being preached. I do miss the social networking that can be done through a church.
Edit: Also, if we visit our Grandparents we go to church with them.

Re: Church
Jason,
Seems as though we're similar in our past lives...
I come from an Italian/German family, mom's Italian, dad's German, so GHEEZ-US was everywhere whilst living at my parents. Since being long gone from the parents, being over seas, travelling the world, doing my soul searching, i've long since grown to despise "religion". There are so many turn-offs to the organization of such. I wouldn't say I DON'T believe in God, i believe in something, i definitely can't classify it as Christian, Muslim, or Jewish, etc. I learned a lot being around Muslims in Balad for so long and my travels to Brasil,Thailand,Tibet and all over. I have a more spiritual sense of what religion is and my relationship with that "stuff" i feel is my own. If it's wrong and i'm later punished for it, so be it. However, like you, I feel the need for some foundation for our kids and the wife and I attend a Catholic church here. If at some point my kids decide to stray and find "religion" on their own, i would support it, but I do think some sort of foundation should be established. How they build life experiences around that and what else they learn that supports their views is to me a personal quest. Definitely NOT some "instructions" some dude or dudes write in some book.
