    Erik,

In all the discussions we have had, even though we often disagree, you are not one of the ones that appears to think you are the smartest when people disagree.

I said none of the above, sure I might have a burger once a week but in that moderation, it isn't bad for me.

I generally have stayed out of these discussions but I will lay out my opinion here. I am majoring in Physics, so some might throw me right into the super Atheist category but I am quite the opposite. Physics has only reinforced my belief in god because when you get right down to it, life, creation, existence... Everything has to be perfect beyond measure. For the big bang to have happened (BTW the bible says 7 days but I think that was just Moses putting it into terms we (The stupid people) could understand, I mean you imagine being shown vast darkness then balls of rock and fire flying around all over the place and try and explain that to people) everything had to be balanced perfectly, for us to exist, earth had to be right where it is not a couple miles this or that way. I just don't think its logical to believe that a series of "Accidents" and a trillion to 1 chances is what brought us here.

Oh, and last I checked BBT and evolution, even if 100% true, don't prove God/gods don't exist.

Being scientific is more about truth and discovery than legislation. Although the same could be said about religion in it's purest sense, we all know there has been a long standing tendancy to be used as a tool to instill fear and obedience in society. Legislation is generally not word I set next to science, but it's practically a synonym to religion.

As to why there is so much controversy of using the word god on legal tender, and pledge of allegiance? I do not see hard core scientists doing this-- I see ignorant purests being offended by any reference to religion.

    Re: I believe in science...

    I don't smoke.
    I don't drink.
I am more than 10 pounds UNDERWEIGHT for Americans. (6'1" 125 lbs if curious)
Drinking and driving doesn't apply to me, since I'm 18. I do, however, know better than to use a cell phone while driving for anything other than checking the time.
I eat healthy. Sure, we all have junk food from time to time, but the main part of my diet is home-cooked meals.

My only sin is not exercising enough, which I really should probably do...

So mark me down for a 6! :6

My ex-girlfriend may be PARTLY to blame. She didn't want me to work out because she doesn't like buff guys. Then again, she dressed me up like a little emo-doll all the time... Can you say that you could fit into 00 jeans at ANY time in high school? Don't think so.

Then again... this is probably something I shouldn't brag about...

    Re: I believe in science...

My only one on the list is eating trash, but I think that one can do something like that while still being generally scientific. I don't try to put on a "SMRTR THN U" attitude, although I do think that hard facts and numbers can answer most questions, rather than speculation. Generally, I'm much more left-minded than right-minded. However, being human, everyone has natural desires and can bend to emotions. In fact, you can even balance it out in a utilitarian way. Will the pleasure I get from eating ____ make me happy enough to balance out the repercussions?

The problem is when you become a hypocrite about it, getting up on your high horse about how SMRT you are while driving under the influence, completely disregarding safe sex, smoking, and similar issues.
