Thread: JUSTIFIED

I was reading an interview with Olyphant today where he was talking about it.

He was such a badass in Deadwood. But not as bad as Al Swearingen.

Haven't watched it yet. I usually let shows finish their first season and watch them then, only if they got a really big critical acclaim. Too many pilots to keep up with.

I watched the first episode, and I like it. I was curious how well he (Timothy Olyphant)would play the role. I liked him in "Hitman", and now I look forward to watching this series.

I saw a bunch of previews for it on FX. My fiance said she couldnt really see him playing that kind of role, but i thought he would ruin Hitman and he did pretty damn well with it. We watched the first episode last night and im looking forward to the coming episodes....i think itll be a good show.

The premise of the show is good. The overt mingling of a US Marshal with Criminal Elements, friends or not, was a little over the top. The part that really sold me on wanting to see the series past the pilot was the ending...

We have seen that the main character is a supremely confident, blindly arrogant, very capable - hero with a troubled past. The fact that you can see that he has an epiphany when his ex-wife tells him that he is the angriest man she has ever known... and he gets it, tells us that the drama of the show will be (or should be) deep and engaging.

I would currently give this show a reserved 3 out of 5.

I caved in, what with the ending of Lost and the Pacific I have more free TV time now... so I watched the first 11 episodes of Justified in a marathon 3-day session, and now I'm caught up and ready for tonight.

I agree there are parts of the premise that are over the top, but it's still an entertaining show, though probably not something that will go down as an all-time fav. The first few episodes were bothering me as the simple "1 hour mysteries" that wrap up perfectly by the end of the episode... I am digging the transition toward a more serial storyline, as the season goes on.
