The growth of illegal file-sharing could cost European countries 1.2m jobs and 240bn euros (£215bn) by 2015, an industry report claims.

The study, commissioned by an industry body and endorsed by trade unions, studied the impact of web piracy in Germany, UK, France, Italy and Spain.

It claims that without measures to curb piracy, the UK alone could lose up a quarter of a million jobs by 2015.

But campaigners described the report as "corporate propaganda"...

I'll be honest, if they cut down prices on certain pieces of software people would probably not download them as much. You'd still have cheapos who would, but some people would still buy the full version.

Yeah, $4-5k for AutoCAD is just retarded.

Prices of some software are purly stupid, IE Auto Cad (luckily i get through my univserity). Windows Prices (also get through my university), etc.

11K for Visual Studios... when Things like Eclipse are free... Stupid.
I can see 100$ or 200$ for Visual studios... but not 11 grand.

I have autocad lt and paid a grand for it. A little steep even the upgrade is expensive guess I'm staying with 2006 for a while

Ya both autocad and vs are stupid in cost. But what pisses me off even more is the boldness of MS scam, to release Vista, stop support and force users to pay the steep price to upgrade to w7.
