I'm curious, when you do the above and the cop draws and tells you to get on the ground, will you comply?

Fuck yea I would. If he was wrong for drawing on me it would be a judicial decision to decide that, not mine.

Wow, you really think highly of me, eh?

You won't know it but what if the cop had super fast reflexes and when you adjusted your holster he drawled his weapon and fired ending up killing you in the process. You lose your life, your family loses a loved one, and the judicial system finds the cop was well within his means to do what he did and is back at work after the incident.

When up in heaven and you could still think, would you still have adjusted your holster?

Like I said.. In Texas, it's the law.

If you carry your weapon, and an officer asks to show ID.. You HAVE to. Period.

From the 2009-2010 Texas Concealed Handgun Laws:

GC §411.205. Requirement to Display License. (a) If a license holder is carrying a handgun on or about the license holder's person when a magistrate or peace officer demands that the license holder display identification, the license holder shall display both the license holder's driver's license or identification certificate issued by the department and the license holder's handgun license.

    Jus' sayin'.

We're trying to get all the dumbass thugs and retards with guns off the streets. Weed 'em out.

What did I do that was so wrong? Pull up my pants? Are you a nervous wreck around cops or something? To me that would be more suspicious than anything. I would be mindful in how I act, my surroundings, or yes, even hand placement when around a cop......but I do all of that anyways when I carry in general. So again, I wouldn't be changing my behavior.

So, what above was so wrong that a cop should draw on me and tell me to hit the dirt?

So cops have the right to shoot anyone who adjusts their holster in public? LOL REALLY? Not what you meant? If so, well that's just sad. If not, well the 'what if' game is fun isn't it?

Still, I don't see your point. Maybe go ask everyone you see and make them show ID, just because?

You know me Toke... I'm all about carrying. I'm also about safe carrying and being smart about it. Cops aren't going to fuck with you for adjusting your holster, as I've stated. They are only going to fuck with you if you're in confrontation with them and you start reaching/adjusting shit.

That's when the shit hits the fan. That's coming from the CJ side of me.

What I'm saying... is in TEXAS, if cops see you with a gun, and you are not a peace officer of some sort.. 9 times out of 10, yes you are going to get questioned and ask to present a valid ID.

And don't bring up if you're on your own property.. we all know that's a different story. This is when you are out in public.
