LOL, I don't think he expected not to be questioned. Whatever his true motives where, I'm not sure, but he didn't do anything wrong. There is nothing wrong with sites like these that offer advice or factual truths about your rights. When you say "there are better ways to go about doing this" what are you talking about exactly.

Oh yea, the whole "if you have nothing to hide" argument is a bunch of BS too....
There are better ways to defend ones rights than to try to instigate hostility and waste a public defenders time.

I would rather a cop be out there keeping DUI offenders off the streets than wondering what the fuck some idiot like this is doing.

I'm going to my state's open carry rally later this month, something that I can do without hassling the police on the street at random.

Being a jackass and idiot does not get ones point across in a manner that instigates discussion, thought or change.
I agree that LEOs have a ton of better things to be doing than this, but all this guy did was video tape his GF getting pulled over. I don't think he was trying to challenge the LEO, he was most definitely not hostile like you put it, it just happened that he didn't feel he needed to present an ID to him. What made him a jackass or an idiot?

I still don't understand, why cause a stir when all you have to do is comply, and if you haven't done anything illegal you would be free to go?

Those cops were completely respectful about the situation, what's the big deal of just giving them your ID for two minutes to run a background check? Seriously, this "pete" guy is a total drama queen, same with anyone who "flex's their rights" to cops. All you are doing is stirring shit that doesn't need to be stirred.

Take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself, is it worth it?

If he just given him his ID that whole situation would of been over in 5 minutes, tops, but since he kept going it obviously escalated into something that could of totally been avoided.

That's b/c you have an authority fetish, bust.

Protecting your freedoms is worth it. You should comply when you are legally required to.

In fact those cops should be reprimanded for lying about the law they swore to uphold. Sad.

Yeah, because I don't want to waste my time or the cops time, that means I have an authority fetish, nice.

I agree, they should be in trouble for blatantly lying like that. But they wouldn't of had to lie if the guy would of just given them his ID.

All this drama and shit for absolutely no reason other than to waste time.

You are right, what a waste of time. Cops should of just done their job and gone after the criminals, instead of wasting their time by detaining someone when they had no right to or wasn't hostile in the least. You should write to the authorities about your disgust. :9

Just because it isn't illegal, doesn't make it all right.

If they detained him, he couldn't of walked away like he did. He walked up to a POLICE OFFICER with a HANDGUN. Regardless if open carry is legal or not, why would you do that? Oh yeah..."flex your rights", correct?

Trying to rationalize lying on the cop's behalf isn't the way to go. They didn't have grounds to ask for his ID. Just being a cop isn't enough.

He didn't get in his face. He got within filimg distance to film. He wasn't flexing his rights, it just so happens that it ended up that way, with good reason. You are still assuming he did all this to provoke an argument.

I'm no authority lover but I don't agree with what this Pete guy did...Police have enough shit to deal with and on top of that this guy approaches them out of the blue...weird and potentially dangerous situation for the cop...the least the cop could do was ask what the hell he was doing...I believe the guy was there to instigate the cops; bothering them and wasting their time.

He did, why else would he come up to the cop with a gun and a camera? To make sure his girlfriend was okay? From a minor traffic infraction?

He knew what would happen, which is why he did it. He wants to make it look like he is a victim in all of this, when in all actuality he is simply the instigator.
