O dear god yes!
Ok, so in one of my graduate classes, a few students and myself got together and made this app:
One person hosts their webcam and everyone connects to it and is able to draw on layers that are on top of the livecam (everyone sees real time updates). Nothing extra ordinary, we wrote it in a class session, but hell some of the slides coming from this are hilarious! Damnit, we needed to make a screenshot key!
Oh god yes, and we have a few artists. Professor became a polar bear!

written in c++ .net. we ported the webcam capture to straight up images. Drawing layer is a toolset that interacts with a liquid (lls) layer of pixels (think grid of pixels), tool set just manipulates cells. Output mearly adds the layers together to get the aggregate. Also flatten user actions before transferring to simplify the undo button. The transfer of the content is done via a special strew of the torrent protocol thats specifically for images (or rather grids of pixels).
Really funny, when something funny is drawn, half the class starts laughing (ones that have the app), the rest of the class that does not know whats going on or is not looking over shoulders joins in not to be left out. Leaving the professor like "wtf"

in other words, the app allows the users to all see the host/single-student 's webcam live, streaming, and draw on it, with their drawings displayed on all participants. So everyone sees the webcams view, and is able to draw on it...
Also strangely enough, was turning into an amazing note taking app!

Jeez lol, you guys think thats bad you should here me going on about knowledge based systems and adaptive systems. Where you have entity based relationships that are produced from the relevant systems interpretations of a dataset.
Jonas, id recommend (if your just learning the concept of programing) to start with visual basic .net. Rather fucking stupid how universities introduce students to programing though to such a non novice friendly language. Would be like having a circuits 101 class that uses its entire semesters case study of some quantum chip (ok, im not a engineering major so those who are will have to help provide a better example). You have got to start simple, learn programing through a language thats closer to english. IMPO, vb is the closest and has excellent debuggers.
Our comp sci educational system needs readdressing. They are stuck on curriculum that are heavily out dated.... next they will force you to learn *shivers* java *gurgles mouth wash*
GO vb -> C# -> c++, or skip c#. Learning to program is much like learning another language. It takes years of practice to get the concept fully nailed, once you get there, youll be able to pickup new languages very, very, easily.
fuck java...
