Stargate Universe(Spolier warning for whole thread)
You were warned
So anyways:
WHAT THE FUCK ARE THE CIVILIANS THINKING.
Fucking mutinying then failing to take into account the total lack of combat ability on their part and lack of weapons.
Ok sorry /rant.
But seriously they're not getting the point that they are not in a situation where votes are the way to go.
thoughts?

Yeah.. I thought it was funny. I see the civilians point though... Young should just tell that civilian leader chick (can't remember her name) that Rush framed him. That would solve everything though and the tension would be lost...

Yeah i can see the civilians point too, however, the military takes orders from the civilian government when the situation is normal, their situation is not normal.
Young handled it well i think, at least for now, made it clear that hes not going to take that shit but refrained from killing anyone, even Rush.

I think if that were a real situation, those civilians would be begging the military personnel to be in charge. Being trapped on an uncontrollable ship, being attacked by hostile species, facing new and unusual threats daily, etc. would probably warrant complete control from the military personnel... especially because they are trained and experienced in off-world combat. Ah well... SG is just not very realistic I guess

Well The IOC, has a tendency to make power grabs, across the board, regardless of the situation. Stargate has always had a dim view of civilians it seems, with the exception of Dr Weir and anyone actually assigned to a SG team (that didn't get redshirted 5 min into the episode) i.e. Dr Jackson.
