Re: For tax day
wow, 374,000 is the highest bracket, if your income is that much then any further progression in your income isn't going to get taxed a higher percentage. The general population has to suffer reaching higher tax brackets year after year but the super rich never have that worry. What's the point in having a half assed tax bracket that only screws the lower income people over...

Re: For tax day
Although the first link was interesting to see...... the second link was Nauseating ! This and All the previous Congress's have SPENT like they were trying to fill the Black Hole of Calcutta........ on Junk ! Instead of spending money like it Wasn't Their money they should spend it like it WAS their money ! All ( or Most ) of us little people have a budget and live within what we Make. Congress Obviously Doesn't have this same thing in mind when it comes to spending OUR money ! IMO An Amendment to the Constitution Requiring congress to submit a Balanced Budget is Way Overdue ! As well as pay for LIFE even after "serving" One Term as a congressman or senator. Whats good for the private sector Should be good enough for govt officials ! I ask all of you ..... WHEN was the last time you left a job and got paid by that company till you die ?? !! None I'll bet but if you know of ONE please let me know .......I want to work for That company !

This leaves little budget bombs every year for the next guys to deal with. We ended up with the largest deficits in State history.

Re: For tax day
I kind of wish we had a say in where our tax money got spent. When I say that I speak specifically of the tax money that came out of only my own pay check. It would work kind of like a vote the day I file my tax return, as in there could be a question, "where do you want your money to be used?" and the choices could be somewhat generic but if you really wanted you could choose for it to be used by the military, or infrastructure, or healthcare. Down the road, the single program that's always lacking money would be the one that people have less faith in and so on.

Re: For tax day
GE's tax return is the largest the IRS deals with each year--some 24,000 pages if printed out.
..and of course they had a $1.1B tax credit for the year on $10.3B in profits! That is what you get when you incorporate subs in Ireland and China and use them for all of your overall profits. Pays to be multi-national.
Imagine how much taxpayer money goes JUST to figure out that return!
