Do u actually know what causes u to hiccup?

What works for me is to take a deep breath, drink some water, and then exhale. -shrug-

I occasionally get bad cases of the hiccups (though not too often, thank God) that can last for an hour to several hours, stop for a short time, and then come right back. I think the worst was going on three days straight. The last time couple of times I started getting them I experimented a bit and what actually worked for me was the breath holding. Well, not really holding a breath since just doing that never works for me, but inhaling very slowly to the point when you can't pull anymore air in and then hold it like that. Then release it slowly and repeat a couple of times. Every time I did this when I started hiccuping, they stopped immediately.

Yeah hold your breath, that will do it, keep holding your breath and in a couple minutes the hiccups will be gone...
