    NFL Draft 2010

Since the 1st round of this years draft is tomorrow night, and being a big fan of the draft (I have no life, i know) figured should be a thread to talk about it. This can be used to post a mock, talk about who your team should take, complain that your GM is a moron, talk about steals, terrible picks and so on.

Personally i think the Jaguars should take either Joe Haden or Eric Berry (i think at least one of them will be available at 10). Outside of that they should trade down or take Morrigan.

Zona should take an ILB/or OLB in the 1st round. I think Weathspoon will be there, and be a great option. Outside that maybe J. Hughes or Misi. If he slips though, they should grab Kindle.

Houston (not my favorite in the least bit, but know it is for some here) will probably take a RB in the 1st imo, agreeing with a few mocks that they will go for Ryan Mathews

Oakland seriously needs a offensive tackle (right now even Manning would suck with this line) and defensive end (primarily to stop the run). I'm thinking the Raiders with pick Maryland's Bruce Campbell.

Campbell will be good, though with Al Davis, he might go after Pierre-Paul instead :P

Al Davis is an idiot and one of the worst GM's/owners/whatever in the league.

I almost want to see Big Ben go there just so we can all recognize that he is overrated. 2 superbowl rings? Courtesy of a decent running game and a superior offense.

Finally I get to see my Saints picking last :9 A lot of mocks have them taking Everson Griffn from USC. Either way They are in desperate need of a strong side Linebacker and either a defensive end to compliment Will Smith or a big time run stopper at DT to pair up with Ellis.

I have them taking Jerry Hughes (but probably will be wayyy off on most of my picks XD) with Griffen going to the Jets. They could (if players like Griffen etc. are gone) go for T. Cody, which would give them a purely run-defending DT.

That is another guy who is being talked about a lot around here in New Orleans. We lost a stable linebacker (Fujita) and Shanle is undersized, so he doesn't help much for the run, especially late in the season.

I believe Hughes and Griffin are both players than can be utilized in a 3-4 type way. At least that's what some articles said about them.

My Vikes pick at 30. We need help at CB, but filled that spot today with the signing of Lito Sheppard to a 1 year deal. So that leaves us with either DT or QB for our first pick. We need a DT cuz Pat Williams prolly wont return after next season and we are gonna need someone to fill his shoes even though his back up is decent. And the thing that plagues us the most is QB. Even though Favre is coming back next year (yes he is the deal is done and hes coming back after camp) we are gonna need someone to take his spot the year after. Right now the talk around the Twin Cities is that we are possibly looking at taking Tebow in the first round. Im not the biggest Tebow fan on the planet, but he is showing that he wants to learn and be a QB at the NFL level.

    Re: NFL Draft 2010

As a Broncos fan, I'm pretty depressed at seeing two pro bowl players + 2 other valuable offensive players (TE and RB) get traded in the past two years.

McDaniels needs to step it up, I'm not interested in seeing Kyle Fuckin Orton weakly heave the ball around to wide receiver leftovers much longer.

I was happier with Jake Plummer and the mid 2000's run we had, at least we were makin the playoffs.

    Re: NFL Draft 2010

I am a huge cowboys fan. I want the cowboys to draft at least 2 offensive lineman in this draft. I think with the way this draft shakes out, there is a couple of decent prospects available, Rogger Saffold-Indiana-OTackle, Charles Brown-Tackle-USC, Bruce campbell -OT-Maryland. I would pick saffold if he is available in this draft for the cowboys. It is interesting to note that the cowboys rarely, if ever, use their first round selection on offensive lineman.
I root for the texans and titans as well. I love the texas longhorns so i root for Vince young and Ricky Williams the most out of any players. I hope that the Titans draft my boy vince some more weaponry. I think the texans should pick Defensive tackle Lamar houston from texas in the 2nd or third round. he will be a beast in their defense. the texans need cornerbacks badly.

This is my first round mock draft, assuming no trades go down, which will not happen.
    1. St Louis Rams- Sam Bradford-QB-Oklahoma. my longhorns ruffed him up hopefully for good muahaha.
    2. Detroit Lions- Ndamukong Suh-DT-Nebraska-Best player in the draft bar none.
    3. Tampa Bay Bucs- gerald McCoy- DT-Oklahoma. people think he compares to warren sapp. no way warren sapp pwns and mccoy is not up to sapps level.
    4. Washington redskins- Trent Williams-OT-Oklahoma- Athletic sooner who let bradford get injured still covetted by teams who need an athletic LT.
    5. Kansas City chiefs-Russell Okung-OT-Oklahoma State -Big Strong Tackle, not quite as fast as trent williams.
6.Seattle Seahawks-Eric Berry-S-Tennessee- Great 3 year performer in SEC. Fast, flexible, strong, can play the role of a caller for the secondary on defense.
    7. Cleveland browns- Joe Haden-CB-Florida- Fast cover corner with great ball skills.
    8. Oakland Raiders- Jason Pierre Paul-DE USF- Fast, big 6'4, inexperienced. I think raiders trade this pick b/c no one they like on the board.
9.Buffalo Bills- Dan Williams-DT-Tennessee- Big strong defensive tackle from SEC.
    10.Jacksonville Jaguars- Derrick Morgan-De/olb-Georgia tech-strong and fast
11.Denver broncos- Earl thomas-S-Texas- A great ball hawking safety with great speed and instincts. Best cover safety in the draft. replacement or compliment for brian dawkins before/after he retires.
12.Miami Dolphins- Sergio kindle-DE/OLB-Texas- Freakishly athletic, but a little stupid. i watched a lot of his games and he makes some spectacular plays and some boneheaded ones. Bill parcells can teach him to be this years brian orakpo.
13.SF 49'ers- Mike Iupati-OG-Idaho- BEAST MODE. Best guard in this class. He steam rolls people with Samoan sumo skills or something. He is raw but he will anchor your line for years.
14.Seattle Seahawks- Brian Bulaga- LT-Iowa- Technician who played all his time at LT. Need to replace Walter Jones at LT.
15.NY Giants- .Rolando the 3-4 alignments/schemes in nick Sabin's defense. national title tons of tackles and a nose for the ball. in my opinion i think he is a sure bet and i hate that he will be available to them with this pick.
16.Titans- Dez Bryant-WR-OKlahoma ST.- This is more what i want them to do then what i believe the titans will do. I want Vince to have some weapons.
17.49ers- CJ Spiller-RB-Clemson-Freakish speed and nose for the endzone. Redonkulous numbers this season make spiller a sure fire pick in my opinion. ridiculous pairing of gore and spiller in the backfield.
18.Steelers- Maurkice Pouncey-C/G-Florida-Anchored Florida line with his brother that ran the ball all over opponents in the SEC. C/G major needs for steelers.
    19.Falcons- Derrick Morgan-De/olb-Georgia tech-strong and fast.
20.Texans- Kyle Wilson-CB-Boise St.- Physical corner with good speed. He drives around in his own huge rv with his name on it.
21.Bengals- Carlos dunlap-DE-florida- very inconsistent play and off the field issues. freakish build and athletic talent to be a DE in a 4-3. very fast and has immense potential
    22.patriots-Jared Odrick-DE/DT-Penn State-Great prospect for the 3-4 defensive end.
23.packers- Anthony Davis-OT-Rutgers- big eater, big winspan and size.I think he would be a good fit for the corn fed packers who lack oline depth.
24.eagles-Jerry Hughes- DE/OLB-TCU- great sack artist with good speed and size for OLB. lost
25.ravens -Brian Price-DT-UCLA-BIg physical presence. Perfect fit for nose tackle for ravens. Had the second most tackles for loss in the country behind Ndamoknong suh.
26.cardinals- Sean Witherspoon-LB-MIssouri- Very athletic and vocal leader that can play any backer position.
27.cowboys- Roger Saffold-OT-Indiana- Huge athletic LT who can play in the NFL.
28.chargers- Ryan Matthews-Rb-Fresno State- The chargers will draft a bigger back to compliment Darren Sproles in the running attack. Matthews rushed for 1800 yards last season and is an every down size back.
29.jets- --.Brandon Grahm- De/OLB-Michigan- Physical rusher with good leverage b/c he is a little short. great production at Michigan.
30.vikings-Devin mCcourty-CB-Rutgers- Great corner with skills to block punts. great athleticism and change of direction. glaring need at cornerback for vikings with my boy Cedric griffin hurt and Antoine winfield getting old. they are banking on old favre daddy so they don't take my boy colt just yet.
31.colts-Bruce campbell-OT-Maryland-Fast,raw , big athletic, strong, long, can learn from good coaches to be very good.
32.new Orleans saints- Everson griffin-DE-USC- good prospect for 4-3 defensive end. good speed strength and size.

wildcards: I dont have clausen or Colt Mccoy in the first, they could go to the bills or browns at some point in the 1st with a trade. Jerrod Odrick or dan williams to miami would change the draft entirely. Spiller is this draft clssess best back yet it is a mystery to me where he might go. Some People think he might got to pete carrolls seahawks as a reggie bush clone. They already have two speedy type backs in forsett and julius jones. julius could be on the way out but forsett should remain and has a similar skill set to the speed y spiller. spiller could land in buffalo or cleveland. buffalo could be trying to get rid of marshaun lynch but they still have a good back in freddy jackson. cleveland has some decent young backs with potential, james davis, jerome harrison, peyton hillis. i guess i was thinking that these teams have backs similar to spiller in size and speed so they dont need another. the raiders are always the most entertaining pick in the draft. i hope they stick with thier guns by picking the most freakish combine workout performer and take bruce campbell. lol

And yes i came up with this whole thing myself. well i mean i spent the time thinking about what each team needed and what was the best value at that pick. We shall see how close i get.

    Re: NFL Draft 2010

Mine right now looks like (granted i find a couple mocks to help with the Raiders as i can't predict Al Davis stupidity):

    1. St. Louis-Sam Bradford
    2. Detroit-Suh (toss up on them if they go for Gerald McCoy or Suh)
    3. Tampa Bay-Gerald McCoy (Suh if Detroit go for McCoy)
    4. Washington-Okung (could go for 1 of the 3 top OT though)
    5. Kansas City-Bulaga
    6. Seattle-Trent Williams
    7. Cleveland-Eric Berry (50/50 on if they go Berry or Haden)
    8. Oakland-Bruce Campbell (unlikely but what came up :/ )
    9. Buffalo-Clausen
    10. Jacksonville-Haden (could use another CB, and from Florida so the whole "sell more tickets" thing)
    11. Denver-Dez Bryant (add a quality WR to replace the talent they've lost)
    12. Miami-Dan Williams (they like them, and if he is there i think they take him)
    13. San Francisco-Anthony Davis
    14. Seattle-C.J. Spiller (if he's still on the board, Seattle has to go for him @14 imo)
    15. New York Giants-Ronaldo McClain
    16. Titans-Derrick Morrigan (Gives them a possible pass rushing DE. Pierre-Paul could go here instead though)
    17. San Francisco-Earl Thomas (could play Safety or CB for the team)
    18. Pittsburgh-Pouncey
    19. Atlanta-Pierre-Paul
    20. Houston-Ryan Mathews (they should wait on an RB, but Mathews will be a big help to them (don't agree with taking him here though)
    21. Cinci-Kyle Wilson
    22. New England-Sergio Kindle
    23. Green Bay-Brandon Graham (might be a O-Linemen instead though)
    24. Philly-Iupati
    25. Baltimore-Jared Odrick
    26. Arizona-Sean Weatherspoon
    27. Dallas-Charles Brown
    28. San Diego-Bryan Price
    29. NY Jets-Emerson Griffen
    30. Minnesota-Taylor Mays (though with Lito, this may change)
    31. Indy-Roger Staffold
    32. New Orleans-Jerry Hughes
