I find it funny people become teachers knowing full well it doesn't pay all that well. Then they turn around and bitch that they aren't being paid enough. Yet i never seem to hear about all that extra time off they get during the summer when everyone else is working. Its a catch 22. You cant have everything no one can.

The government at large has proven time and again that they are poor managers of money.
I'd much rather look for ways to rework the way that our school systems spend the billions of dollars they already get. My dad was a public school teacher for 20 years, so I sympathize with them for making so little money...but when the Principal rolls up in a Mercedes and the district offices have thousand dollar desk chairs and marble floors...I get a little perturbed when the fat cats in public education (and there are fat cats...trust me) whine about needing more money.

If you look at a graph of student scores over the last 40 years when we had the most dramatic increase in spending on education you will see that on average the scores are Flat. For all the money that has poured into the education system...... kids aren't the Least Bit smarter.
