I know they did cause Linux has more tendency's for pirated software. but if its only apples to their on-line gaming is it really a BFD since the on-line part is optional and a sperate contract?

eh this guy i talk to on irc used to use the linux to make himself little tools n shit so the code monkies probably loved it

Don't own a PS3 so it doesn't really bother me much. Just seems silly to have an OS like Linux on a console anyways.

The recent firmware update removed the ability to replace their operating system with linux... which was fairly popular.
Wonder if we'll get some free games for it.

You could use the PS3's to do research that needed supercomputer. A supercomputer is a computer capable of at least 1 teraflop (essentially, a trillion calculations per second). The PS3 is capable of 3.2. My school has a 20 PS3 network for this purpose, and several universities were using similar methods. Originally Posted by Kraker Jak

The suit covers anyone who purchased a PS3 between November 17, 2006 and March 27, 2010 (though not if you sold your PS3 to someone in the meantime) and seeks compensatory damages, restitution, injunctive relief and legal fees. Originally Posted by QuickLightning
