    just some more bad news

Barbaro the Horse was Euthanized on monday if you dident know.after what happned yesterday i dident want to post.if you dident know who barbaro was you relly need to get out more.he won the Kentucky Derby last year and was taken as a threat to be a triple crown winner.

One of Barbaro's owners, Roy Jackson, says, "We just reached a point where it was going to be difficult for him to go on without pain." He says the decision to end the horse's life was "the right thing to do." He and his wife were with their horse this morning at the Pennsylvania veterinary hospital where he's been treated, and made the decision in consultation with surgeon Dean Richardson.

After shattering his right hind leg a few strides into the Preakness in Baltimore, Barbaro underwent a five-hour operation to fuse two joints. Most horses do not survive that injury. He would never again walk with a normal gait. And a serious complication developed, with a condition called laminitis in the hoof on his other back leg. Most of that hoof had to be removed.

Then, over the weekend, there was another significant setback, as surgeons had to insert two steel pins into one of the shattered bones to keep weight off of the right rear foot.

Barbaro's owners spent tens of thousands of dollars hoping Barbaro would be able to recover and live a comfortable life on the farm, and perhaps be able to breed.

im sorry to be telling alll of you this but someone had to.

I read about it in the newspaper today man. It kinda made me want to cry. I mean it really did hit me when I saw it. I dont know why but I saw it just felt horrible. But, I guess it would have been better for him in the long run so he would not have to suffer anymore. It just affected me in a weird way.

    just some more bad news

It is sad, but it reminds me of the Sopranos when Ralphie got wacked by Tony. I remember Tony accused Ralphie of burning the horse for insurance money. Ralphie said "No I did not! But so what? Its a fucking animal!" Tony of course got pissed off, started cursing at Raphie, who replied with "You fat fuck, you eat beef and sausage by the cartload!". Or something like that.

    Even vegitarians kill living organisms...

Deal to End Hollywood Writers? Strike May Be Near

    Source

LOS ANGELES — Informal talks between representatives of Hollywood’s writers and production companies eliminated the major roadblocks to a new contract, opening the prospect of a tentative agreement between the parties as early as next week, according to people who were briefed on the situation but requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak.

A deal would end a crippling writers strike that is now entering its fourth month.
Even if the strike ends soon, a lot of damage has already been done to this season.

I was hoping it would last longer.

That way people start realizing there's more to life than staring at a TV...

What about us who like to relax and watch a show or 2 a week?
I think most people realize there is more to life than a TV, at least I sure as hell hope so.
