Anyone in dentist field?
Last Tuesday I seen a specialist because since March I had sensitivity on my gum and then a small abscess on my third last tooth (root canal).
They decided to do this called "explore surgery", what they do is cut the gum and see what's going on. Well unfortunately they seen a small cyst and then they seen that my tooth was fractured. So they had no choice to extract my tooth. *sniff* And of course cleaned the area down to my jaw bone.
I have 3 stitches and they are not the ones that melts. I'm supposed to see the specialist next Thursday to have the stitches removed. But yesterday, one of the stitches removed by itself. And I have been feeling a little feverish since Wednesday, like 99.0 to 99.2.
So this stitch is a little long and annoying, I want to cut it so bad but won't just in case. And of course it's the weekend and my specialist is not working right. I'm gonna call them on Monday to see what to do.

With having any sort of surgery and getting a fever I would say see someone as soon as possible. Even if it's dental surgery there are still infection risks. Try to contact him or your regular doctor. Infections need to be looked ASAP. Something of that low grade is probally nothing, but always error on the side of caution.

Re: Anyone in dentist field?
My son went through the same thing back in Feb. After he had his surgery.... 9 teeth extracted.... he ran a low grade fever for a few days. But we did the same thing and took him to the doc the following monday just to be sure. It was just his body fighting off an infection and winning. When he could move his jaw enough, without pain, he begain an using an antiseptic rinse. Here we are in August and hes all good.
