Honestly, I can't stand Phillips, but I don't think he was the problem. It's Jerry Jones. He needs to be an owner and stop trying to be the fucking coach. People want Cowher and John Gruden, to coach there, but bad news for them, they most likely won't. They are serious, big time coaches and don't have time for Jerry Jones and his circus of a football organization.

Jerry Jones is like the young Al Davis except Davis wears track suits.

What's funny is that I hear from people that Garrett is the problem also. We will see if it's any different.

I've made that exact same comparison on these forums before. Both those guys are a cancer to their teams. Sure they might have SOME success one year, but long term, they are detrimental to their teams.

Unfortunately, I think Garrett is part of the problem, and I don't think he'll do much better. I'm sure he knows he'll be on a short leash, so it will be interesting to see what happens with him. The cowboys weren't behind Phillips, and I think they stand fairly similarly with Garrett. Sure, he's had the cowboys putting up great numbers for pass offense. But with 3 good running backs, where's the numbers there? The defense hasn't been on his side because they don't run the ball.

It's neither really....it's the owner. But I understand why you'd think that. Being a colts fan, coaching to you guys is just a formality. Honestly, I'm convinced you don't even need one in Indy, not like anything would change...I mean who's gonna come in there and try to change shit up on Manning? I sure wouldn't.

This is true until the point when the talent decides they will no longer lay it on the line for the coach. Look at the Steelers. They are not usually the most talented teams, yes they have some talent, but the players would run through a brick wall for Cowher or Tomlin. Most of the Cowboys wouldn't drive through a Burger King for Wade.

And unfortunately, Jerry Jones won't hire a coach that can be that guy. I guess he thinks he's that guy.

Re: OFFICIAL NFL 2010 Season Thread

I don't know if Jason Garrett is the answer, but I like this.

Garrett, who took over for Phillips as the interim coach on Monday, had his new team practice in full pads for the first time since training camp.
Jason Garrett has Dallas Cowboys in full pads at first practice - ESPN Dallas

Wade had them in hats most of the time in training camp, and no practices in pads since training camp. No wonder nobody on this damn team can tackle.
