    Bike

Ok so I currently have a 06 Honda Shadow VLX 600. Great bike love it but I can't stop crapping the pegs due to my aggressive riding style embedded in my brain. It has been tamed due to the bikes limits but you can only tame the beast so much. SO. I'm looking at getting a version of like a sport standard bike for my next one in like 6 months to a year or so. Two bikes I have in mind are the Ninja 650 and the Suz SV650S. I would get the lower farring for the SV and (do you think i should get different seat?) so it has better look as that is what i love about the Ninja but the SV has so much better reviews and better history. I just love the looks of the Ninja but also don't want to be wishing i got a different bike in a year or so and i know the SV has been ridden many times on track days. So. What are your thoughts. Any ideas for different bike or so. This will be my first sport or sport standard bike and my honda was my first period so keep this in mind. (That is why i'm going for the 650 or so range) Thanks.

    RE: Bike

I had a guy on a GSXR beside me on the highway last week and we were clipping along at 70 or so miles an hour... That guy decided it was time to go and hit the gas and took off faster than anything I've ever seen in my life on any public road. He was just GONE. Sport bikes are just incredible.

I have no educated opinion on motorcycles but I've known 2 people who've been killed in the last 5 years on them, so be careful and watch out for soccer moms in their SUVs (my wife included)....because they probably aren't lookin for you! be safe!

Oh man, I totally thought you were talking about pedal bikes. I was like, 'seriously, 70mph? hmm...' but then I read the posts again.

I had an '01 Suzuki GSX-R 600 which I bought brand new and just sold last year. An amazing bike. Easy to ride, yet has plenty of get up and go when you want it. I think the 750 would be just about perfect. More power, yet easier to manage on the twisties than the 1000.

Honestly though, you really can't go wrong with the SV650S. I have a friend in the Air Force who has one and absolutely loves it. It's has absolutely wonderful handling and good road manners. Much more comfortable to ride than my GSX-R was too. I've also read nothing but great reviews on it.

    RE: Re: RE: Bike

I've had a 2002 Kawi Ninja 7R, 2002 Suzuki gsxr 1000, and two 2001 Honda Erion Racing Edition 929RR. Out of all of those i pick Honda as the best sportbike.

SV's are v-twins. That means a lot of torque but no balls on the freeway. Plus, they are ugly as shit. You couldn't get me to pimp one if you gave me one for free, and paid me.

I haven't heard anything about the ninja 650. All i know is Kawi makes a shitty bike. Very fragile, and the parts/plastics break really easily.

You want to buy a bike that already looks like the way you want it to look. Performs good, good reviews on the ergonomics of the bike model..etc

I suggest getting a honda. They are built tuff. All those bikes i have owned have been stunted on. Dropped, excessive redlining, flipped, pancaked, rolled down a highway..etc Honda is the best.

    Here's my stunt bike...

These were taken in Monclova, Mexico...

If you have myspace...here's a first hand look at the abuse i put on these $10,000 bikes. Video is from footage in 2005. The uploading process screwed up the timing of the video with it's music...oh well.
