I sat in my stand for about 20 minutes and a doe darts into the field about 160 yards away...I have instructions to shoot any doe over a year old that I want and any buck 8 points or over...well, long story short, after missing him once because I was shaking like a leaf, waiting a few minutes, and him coming BACK to the field to chase this doe again, I got him. 9 points, 200 lbs, and I only had to drag him 40 yards including through a deep creek to get him where the truck could pick him up.

He's the biggest deer taken from this particular piece of property all year.

Did I mention this is my first deer EVER?! Yeah...he was in full rut mode...he could care less about the gunfire, he wanted his lady!

Congrats, I see the blood on your leg but not your face. What gives? It's tradition to take the blood from a first kill and smear it on your face. BAD LUCK FOR 99 YEARS

The crowd I was with was more fancy-pants than all that, so my host didnt make me get down and dirty with the deer.

Ahh....The Dead Sea. And you are right.....that is another one that the DNR has ruined.

I shot he fell to the ground with his head up looking the other way. I could tell I hit him in the shoulder area. Maybe a little high. I was on my atv heading back to the truck and some how my gun flops off onto the rocks, so I know the fucking scope is off now. HELL OF A DAY!!!

Looked for another 2 hrs today and didn't find it.
