Outdoors: Hunting & Fishing 2010
I searched and found nothing about outdoors, such as hunting and fishing.
Bow season starts here in the morning. Alabama Oct 15th, All firearms Nov 27. All weapons permitted until the end of deer season which is January 31st.
In most counties in Alabama you are able to kill two deer a day, which only one can be a buck. Example: 2 doe a day or 1 doe & 1 buck a day.
However there is a 3 buck season limit, which one buck must have at least 4 points on one side and the other 2 can be whatever.
You also can not bait in Alabama so no yellow acorns.
Alabama has a lot of great Public hunting areas. You can hunt on National Forest Lands, WMA's and on TVA property.
I hunt several different places. I hunt 700 acres of private land, which is corn/bean fields with wood lines running through out. I also hunt on the Black Warrior WMA in Moulton Alabama. It has rolling steep hills. It has produced several deer scoring in the 150's - 160's. I also hunt in Skyline Alabama which produces deer scoring in the 120's - 130's. Its is steep mountain land. I also hunt on TVA land near the Guntersville AL. dam. It also is steep mountain land on Lake Guntersville. I have seen/killed deer in the 120's there. It happens to be across the highway from my house. I also have a place to go in TN but I have yet to go.
Squirrel,Quail,Duck,Rabbit,Dove,Hog,Gator and anything else you can think of is just right around the corner if it hasn't started already. All is very abundant here.
Fishing is getting good here on Guntersville Lake. Well really its good all year round, but right now the largemouth bass are hitting top water and we all know that can be boat loads of fun. Also, the crappie are biting great too. You can still catch bream and channel cats right now as well.
I will post photos of everything I get and I hope you do too. Till then Great Fishing & Happy Hunting!Last edited by ~BigTymer~; 10-14-10 at 06:25 PM.

Re: Outdoors: Hunting & Fishing 2010
Went to the deer woods this morning, Temp was 38 and windy. I didn't have enough clothes on so I got cold but stuck it out. At 8:11 a small deer walked behind me. Ten mins later a coyote walked down the mountain. At 9:30 a large Doe and a Yearling walked by @ 56 yards. Then the wind set in, around 20mph. So I called it quits at 11:00.
I should have taken the shotgun. I am sure I could have got the limit on squirrel.Last edited by ~BigTymer~; 10-17-10 at 06:12 PM.
