The bulk will come with some age. At 16 and 5'11",he may be about done growing vertically,but he will fill out in the next couple of years. Good call to get him into football,though....that will help a lot with being more aggressive. Get his confidence up,and work a crapload of muscle groups that other sports don't. Playing different sports will make a better athlete than just focusing on one. In fact, focusing on one sport,year-round can cause more damage than anything else.

The real question is How is Mom taking it? My Mom stopped going to my hockey games as soon as I hit Bantam(12-13 y/o or so) and we started hitting....she just couldn't watch....lol.

Bulk can come quickly. My brother was 5'10" 150 lbs about 6 months ago at 15, fast forward 8 months and he is now 190 at pretty much the same height just from working out. Plays db/olb and option qb and hits hard as hell. The bastard is bigger than me, not stronger of course

And start hitting at 12? I remember hitting at 9 or 10.

Grats, good work getting him back into it, I know how timid he probably was getting back in! Only thing I want to say is make sure he knows how to wrap up when tackling! To many people just go for the hit these days....

Well, not exactly a twin. He does have hair above his ears.

Chosen - thanks for sharing and let us know how the season goes for them. Any chances with either football or baseball for a scholarship?
