ended up getting 30% of the 1st round picks right . Worse, of the 10 I predicted right, 8 were in the top 10, 5 were in the top 5, and got only 2 right from 11-32.

I thought the Saints had a good 1st round. Also think Detroit and St. Louis got some steals at 14 and 15, Detroit line could be incredibly scary. I think Baltimore and NY Giants could potentially get some great value out of their picks. Feel Atlanta's first round was horrible, what a shit trade to make. Also think Minnesota was horrible, take a late first/early-mid second QB at 12? I didn't like Kansas City's pick, not sure Baldwin was a first rounder. Didn't like Philly, Cleveland, and Seattle picks. Philly took a 27 year old in the first round, never going to support that. Cleveland took Phil Taylor at 21, despite the fact he may of been still available in the 2nd round, and not sold on Taylor to begin with. James Carpenter was one hell of a reach by Seattle, especially where the other guys on the board at the time, imo, were better and could do the same job.

word is around here that the Vikes to Ponder at 12 because they felt that with the Jags trading up to get Gabbert that the Skins would take Ponder with their pick later. So the value in a QB was there for them at that time and not to wait till the second round and end up with Dalton or Mallet. Still would have liked them to pick up an OL guy or Prince since he was still on the board, but we'll probably address those needs in the later rounds. Oh well only time will tell.

    Carolina: Cam Newton
    Denver: Von Miller
    Buffalo: Dareus
    Cinci: A.J. Green
    Arizona: Peterson
    Cleveland: Julio Jones
    San Francisco: Prince Amukamara
    Tennessee: Nick Fairley
    Dallas: Tyron Smith
    Washington: Blaine Gabbert
    Houston: Robert Quinn
    Minnesota: Jake Locker
    Detroit: Aldon Smith
    St. Louis: Corey Liuget
    Miami: Ryan Mallett
    Jacksonville: Cameron Jordon
    New England: J.J. Watt
    San Diego: Cameron Heyward
    NY Giants: Mike Pouncey
    Tampa Bay: Da'Quan Bowers
    Kansas City: Akeem Ayers
    Indy: Anthony Castonzo
    Philly: Nate Solder
    New Orleans: Adrian Clayborn
    Seattle: Andy Dalton
    Baltimore: Derek Sherrod
    Atlanta: Ryan Kerrigan
    New England: Gabe Carmini
    Chicago: Steven Paea
    NY Jets: Muhammad Wilkerson
    Steelers: Ras-I Dowling
    Green Bay: Mark Ingram

Bit of a summary, changed Cleveland to Julio Jones after some reading and it seemed they liked him a lot. I have Tenn going Fairley, as again reading they'll want him if he falls. That opened Minnesota to get Jake Locker (in the assumption no-one trades up). Not sold on Dallas pick, but they are pretty much screwed unless they can trade down. Paea or Taylor might be good for them, but 9 is reaching (even with Tyron 9 is a reach).

I would think Detroit would love this, otherwise they'd likely be stuck reaching or taking Jimmy Smith who has big questions about him. Jacksonville gets a guy who could play probably 3-4 positions for them, and should help the pass attack. I think KC gets a steal in Ayers. Seattle was a major pain to decide on, not a lot they'd love at the spot (Jimmy Smith maybe) and figured they might feel the need to jump on a QB as they won't get the chance in the 2nd round.

Chicago is a tough case, they basically get fucked over on the tackle/guard race in the first round, leaving them to either reach or go somewhere else in the first. I like Paea there, despite the injury, because he can fit into their system (I think) and is a beast. Green Bay takes Ingram, more because he would be probably one of the better players left hanging around. The benefit being they might have some stability in their RB ranks finally.
Red you are the man. WOw you picked the top 10 like a beast. Do you know some scouts because i would hire you to scout for my nfl team. shit man you had locker going high and i didnt think he would be top 12.

i figured for sure that denver would draft dareus and the cowboys would not draft an oline. that is the first time since jerry jones has owned the cowboys that he picked an olineman in the first round. wooot. i sure hope he is as good as they expect him to be.

i was certain that julio would be picked before aj, but i was wrong. i still think julio is a straight beast. so did atlanta, because the gave away like 5 picks for him.

the saints had an amazing first round, cam jordan and marc engram. beast mode.

i am really excited to see nick fairley ndamukung suh and kyle vanden bosch mixing it up on the field for the detroit lions.

Wow, trying to figure out what the fuck the Cardinals are doing. The defense was pretty shit, 0 pass rush. So they SKIP Ayers to draft a running back? then in the 3rd they take a TE?!

    Re: 2011 NFL DRAFT!!!!

WEll i guess the arizona cardinals really believe in Ryan williams. i have heard a lot of hype about him. they always say that he wrecked shop his junior season and then failed to live up to those numbers his final year at virginia tech.

cowboys have had a solid draft thus far. they picked two players in the first two rounds that could potentially start for them this next season. tyron smith could play left or right tackle. bruce carter could man the middle for aging keith broking.

i like what the chiefs did. the chiefs really solidified their team. they drafted good prospects for the offensive and defensive line.

Whisenhunt isn't exactly a braintrust....I was sooooo glad whenever Pittsburgh sent him packing. A friend of the family knew him from college(Georgia Tech) and basically thought he was great when handed a template but couldn't draw one up to save his life(for anything).

    Re: 2011 NFL DRAFT!!!!

They were talking about it Monday on the local radio, most fans of the team/local sports guys seem to HATTTEEE the Cardinals draft, yet all the national media experts are loving it, giving it As and Bs. The Cards did need a TE, I'll give them that. The running game is bleh, but not sure if that is due to the RBs being terrible or the O-Line being terrible (probably a mix). Really could of used an Ayers or Reed etc. to generate some pass rush though, and possibly a FS (though Peterson may eventually end up there). Porter and Rhodes did not get it done in the least bit.

The only good thing is they'll be facing Alex Smith and Charlie Whitehurst probably, so won't have to worry about getting pressure, those two will create their own fuck-ups :P. Bradford will be a bitch to deal with unless they find a way to get a pass rush though. Peterson should be able to beast though, Seattle has shit all for WR (other then big slow asses), I don't think Rams have anything that will wow, and San Fran has Crabtree and not much else that scares me.

One of the reasons the media seems to love it is because of a valid point with their 1st round pick. Patrick Peterson was regarded by a lot of teams to be the top player in the draft. Any time you can add a talent like that at #5, you kind of have to go for it. Also, teaming him up with Dominic Rodgers-Cromartie will give them one of the best young CB tandems in the NFL. While they may not be able to generate a lot of pass rush, better coverage on the back end means they don't have to rely on pressure as much.

As for the RB pick, Beanie Wells has had injury problems his first 2 seasons (hard to believe, considering he had injury problems in college too, right?), and while Tim Hightower has been serviceable, he hasn't been anything special. I'm also pretty sure his contract is expiring, leaving him a FA. Ryan Williams has a chance to be one of the better backs in the league, and it seemed worth a gamble for the Cards when their starter can't stay healthy, and their most productive RB might sign somewhere else.

Also, the Cardinals did indeed pick someone who can aid their pass rush, in Sam Acho their 4th round pick. Acho had the talent to go higher in the draft, and was a very good value pick for the Cards on day 3. He may not have been an elite prospect, but Acho can get to the QB and will likely challenge for some playing time his rookie year.
