The thinking is Fox will run a 4-3 at denver (they'll still need D-Line help in either a 3-4 or 4-3).
Since we are talking about the draft, came across this article talking about the Panther's draft possibility. According to it, the Panthers really aren't excited about Fairley or Bowers, and are looking for an "Impact Player" (duh, because with the 1st pick you want a role player *rolls eyes*)
Inside the Panthers: Panthers not sold on drafting D-lineman
If true it brings up the big question, are any of the top QBs in the draft impact players? My opinion the 2 impact players up at the first pick are Peterson and AJ Green (I wouldn't rule out Julio even go wayyy up the board there, as he certainly seems like he'll be a major impact player.)
EDIT: Apparently another article recently from Observer said Gabbert is pretty much out, and it will likely come down to either Newton or a Defensive player (if a player on the D, it seems like Dareus or Bowyers are the favorites.)
One thing that makes me almost wonder if they gamble on Peterson (CB is traditionally considering a "lesser" position apparently), in there division they have to play against Ryan, Brees, and Freeman (okay, Freeman isn't near the same class as the other two yet, and may never be). Granted that also makes a strong case for a pass rusher as well (Afterall, you could have the top 5 corners in the game, but still will get beat without some sort of pass rush)Last edited by Red_Lizard2; 03-05-11 at 09:45 PM.

I am going to go out of the box and say that the Cowboys should not use their pick on a corner. If Ryan can get Jenkins to play at his 2009 level instead of his 2010 level, no corner is needed. This draft is deep at DE IMHO. I think the Cowboys should trade down for additional picks for offensive linemen and some defensive role players. Hiring Ryan should make the defense better, even without major personnel changes.

Re: 2011 NFL DRAFT!!!!
1. Carolina Panthers- Da`Quan Bowers- He has the most potential in the draft and they took two quarterbacks last year...look for them to bring in a veteran QB through free agency
2. Denver Broncos- Patrick Peterson-Best CB in the draft and they have Champ to groom him...Denver D will be stout next year...
3. Buffalo Bills- Marcell Dareus- He fits better in the 4-3 scheme than Farley does and He can take games over...
4. Cincinnati Bengals- Cam Newton-I think Palmer is out and Newton will sell some tickets so they bring him in...
5. Arizona Cardinals- Von Miller- They need someone to take over (Porter is 34)...They should pick up a QB in free agency...
6. Cleveland Browns- Nick Farley- I think he is a good fit here and Cleveland will be lucky to get him here...
7. San Fran 49ers- Robert Quinn-This guy is a beast that can provide the Niners with some pressure off the end...
8. Tennessee Titans- Blaine Gabbert- This was a tough choice...the Vince Young project is over...Mallett and Newton are character issues...THey go with Gabbert
9. Dallas Cowboys- Prince Amukamara- He is the second best CB in the draft and cowboys need secondary help...If not they might trade down and pick up a OL deeper in draft.
10. Washington Redskins- A.J. Green- A steal at number 10...Nobody else really needs to address WR so he slips to 10...

So, I'm noticing recently Peterson is making the top of a lot of "value boards" and considered maybe one of the best top talents in the draft. The question is, if you are the Panther, do you take a CB first? It isn't considering a critical position still, and you'd have Bowers, Cam, Dareus, and Fairley all up there, all of which that play those "value/critical positions," Though it is a a deep D-Line draft, but the panthers don't have a 2nd rounder.
I guess basically the questions are: Should Peterson go first, and should CB be considered a "critical" position in todays league?

Re: 2011 NFL DRAFT!!!!
Never fear, The draft will happen regardless of the CBA. Players rights will be divided up to their teams even if they dont play.
This draft is one of the most interesting i have seen. As red had pointed out it is all up in the air. Every time i see a mock i think, damn that is some good reasoning for choosing that player there. I cant decide shit. There are some late round steals at every position and i will be very interested where a couple of rb's go specifically the one from auburn and maryland, ill research their names and edit the post. they posted 4.3 40's at the combine. speed isn't everything they just intrigue me as late round picks. there are so many rb prospects in this draft it is ridiculous. this draft is stacked.
i think it is cam or blaine for the first pick. peterson will not get past 5. I still think Julio is the first WR taken. Broncos will choose a d lineman or trade. cowboys should trade the pick so someone can grab julio or aj for more picks.Who's Next With Plex,

Re: 2011 NFL DRAFT!!!!
Draft isn't going anywhere. Shame the player's union...oh wait they aren't a union anymore...LOL.....regardless, it's a shame the players are trying to get the potential draftees to deny invites to be in NY for the first round. These kids have been working towards this their entire lives, let them do their thing. I mean hell, don't take that away from the parents either. Sad really.
Either way, I don't think there is a single person here who will say "Well I don't think I'm gonna watch this year, because they top prospects won't be in house"...I'll be smack dab in the middle of my sofa watching every second of it.
