3%? You think these draft "Experts" would know this ahead of time. How good is he on the shorter throws that they still have him so high?

he is around 55-60% I think? I could see him being high as if he can throw short passes, he'll fit in with a WCO. Maybe they think the crappy long range accuracy is due to something other then his arm *shrugs*

For all that you just as well take Peterson. I'm sure he could have a 3% accuracy rating on long balls and hell, if they try hard enough, Carolina could get good ole Jimmy Claussen to be accurate on the short game.

    Win/Win

They probably won't take Peterson (my thinking is the GMs probably still don't think CB is an "elite" position, stupid or not), but I think it would a terrible move to take Gabbert or Cam first (similar I don't like either to the cardinals at 5), Clausen probably won't take them to the playoffs, but he could be decent enough to get you through another year until a good QB actually enters the draft. You already have one project at QB (Clausen), adding another won't make things any better.

The QB's this year aren't making anyone hard in the pants, so next up you take a look at the teams you will be playing in your division.....New Orleans, Atlanta and Tampa Bay....3 extremely deadly QB's. You need a player that will be sure fire disrupter for those three QB's or you need someone to shut down one side of the field. Carolina has to go defense.

    2) Denver- Dareus(DT)
The do need defensive line help. dareus could play any position on their defensive line. I beleive they still run 3-4, at least that is what i gather. I'm not sure. They just signed Champ to an extension although it could be just for show. They have many holes. i guess corner is not the most glaring weakness. their D-line is aging veterans. released from other teams, they are a scrappy bunch, but no power pig hogs.

    3) Buffalo- PAtrick Peterson

Best DB in the draft before and after the combine. Over 6 feet with incredible ball skills and return ability. set the combine on fire with an official 4.37 40 yard dash.

    4) Cinci- Nick Fairley DT
Cinci has spent some mid round picks on young DE's in the last couple drafts. I bet they want to see DE's carlos dunlap and michael johnson this year. fairley in the middle will facilitate that defensive line's growth. This pick all hinges on Carson Palmer. if palmer continues to balk at coming back to the bengals, they will choose cam or blaine. if they can convince him to come back it could go WR or DT.

    5) Arizona-Blaine gabbert QB
There is one thing for sure Patrick peterson, will not get past this pick if he is still here. I pick gabbert here because they need a QB like a fat man needs a burger.

    6) Cleveland-Julio jones WR
give colt some weapons to throw the ball to!

    7) San Fran-Vonn Miller LB
Ran an official 4.45 40 yard dash at the outside linebacker position. he will need to learn how to change direction a little better in passing situations. athletically, he is a beast.

    8 ) Tenn- D'Quan Bowers- DE
D- line is set with pass rushing specialists. This will t

    9) Dallas-
&%$ NOONE LEFT TRADES THE PICK LOL JK UHHHH PRINCE AMUKAMARA
Cowboys will fail to pick an O lineman and end up choosing a good corner to help the secondary.
    10) Washington-AJ GREEN WR
Best player available for a position of need.blatant need.
That was my mock from the 4th of March. I still really like it. This draft hinges on Carson palmer entirely. if the bengals select a QB instead of another player the draft could be completely different.

Cowboys insight- i was reading into the cowboys needs and it might be very feasible to see them grab an impact defensive lineman to line up in their 3 man front for their 3-4. their secondary has two good corners but no good safties. i saw a mock which had them taking TExas DB curtis brown in the 2nd round for a conversion to safty. Prince could be the answer but the cowboys need help in three obvious areas, o-line, saftety/corner, and d-line, and not really in any order. They are all problems that need to be fixed for my cowboys. i think the cowboys just released former lsu tiger and first round pick marcus spears. he was one of the DE's in their starting 3 man front. There are a slew of possible 3-4 d-line prospects after the seemingly consensus top 2 of dareus and fairley, and none has differentiated itself from the pack. jj watt might have separted himself and the cowboys could go there. cameron jordan, cameron heyward, adrian clayborn, corey liuget, phil taylor, marvin austin, muhamed wilkerson, stephen paea, could all be top 20 picks. one will probably be a top 10 pick. all of the players i named are possibilities for the cowboys.

    2011 NFL DRAFT!!!!
    #87

    Re: 2011 NFL DRAFT!!!!

The debate over the top 2 Wr's in this draft reminds me, a little at least, bit of a battle between two heavy weight blue chip recruits a few years back. Bizarro world in real time.

AJ green- WR -georgia- lit up all of his competiton on the college level. 4.5 40 guy, but has incredible ball skills, play making ability, and game speed. People still argue for him to be #1 even when Julio has nearly equivalent production and a better combine performance. Julio also has more toughness. AJ also wears a rb/db style helmet like Emmit smith or Charles Woodson Wears....I like those helmets it isjust in the bizarro world.

Julio JOnes- WR- ALAbama-Ran in the 4.3's at the combine with a fractured foot. very productive in college where he showcased his toughness and speed with regularity. he is 6'3 as well, and beasted the broad jump over 11'6. His helmet doesnt actually match in the Bizarro world.....

Flashback to the 2003 NFL draft.
CHarles rogers was drafted #2 overall to the Detroit Lions. Everyone thought that Charles Rogers was going to ball it up, including me. He has the same style of play as Aj green and the same helmet style! lol He was injured and his career ended in shame. He wears a db/rb helmet just like AJ green! An entitled Charles Rogers never worked hard enough to compete at the pro level. he had two major injuries that sounded like to me led to pain killer abuse and laziness.

Andre johnson WAs drafted 3rd to the TExans.
Andre Johnson beasted the combine and also had a very productive college career. Andre Johnson is the best receiver in the league right now.

It will be interesting to see where Julio lands. I believe he is one of the true offensive play makers in this draft. The cowboys should trade dez for a 1st and draft julio with the 9th pick. Dez is a noob, full of himself from the get go. Miles Austin is the number 1 on Dallas anyway.
*wow this post was stupid....in summary i think ol AJ will not be as good as julio.

what does your team need? who do you think they should/will draft?

    Re: 2011 NFL DRAFT!!!!

I'm planning to work on a final mock later this week, got my yearly draft mag, and getting close enough to where its only a small guessing game now instead of "pick from 3000 players" xD. Oh by the way, for Plex and Kang (as well as anyone else who wants to give it a go), I think Bud Light is doing a contest where if you get the 1st and 2nd round correct you'll win 10 million dollars. Try to find a link sometime tonight (haven't looked for it myself, but seems like it is worth trying).

EDIT: as for my team, what he really need in the first is a pass rushing DE, I think pretty much every year our pass rush has been terrible anyways. After that we REALLY need safeties bad, our safeties are easily the worst in the league. I'd love a QB, but Gerrard is doing alright, and not like there is much in this years draft that would be any better then Gerrard (we do need to replace Gerrard sometime in the future though, won't be a major challenger with just MJD).

As always, since I live in AZ, I also give opinion on the Cards. The Cardinals need a 3-4 pass rushing OLB badly this year, Porter was crap last year, and the team's record help shows how that didn't work well. A CB and/or safety could be a nice addition. QB is an issue, but I would rather get a vet to compete with Skeletor then draft a QB. the O-Line needs some work, as it has for about every year for god knows how long.

    2011 NFL DRAFT!!!!

    Re: 2011 NFL DRAFT!!!!

    MOCK 3.0

    1) Carolina-Cam Newton QB
I still think that Carolina picks killa Cam. I think it will be either CAm or Blaine to go in this spot. If Blaine is chosen i suspect their spots to opposite.

    2) Denver- Dareus(DT)
Denver is switching to 4-3 under new coach john fox. Dareus is versatile enough to play in most any front at any tackle position possibly end in some situations. Their DT corps is decimated with retirees and scrub gremlins. They will pick a defensive lineman or maybe von miller and wait for dt help later.

    3) Buffalo- PAtrick Peterson

Best DB in the draft before and after the combine. Over 6 feet with incredible ball skills and return ability. set the combine on fire with an official 4.34 40 yard dash. *i have read that some people question his ability to be a corner. the clips i have seen, granted they ere highlights of matchups against key receivers, were very promising. i think he can play corner and he should be like a nmadi asomugha charles woodson type if he works hard. I know the raiders wish they could pick him with nmadi on the way out.

Ran an official 4.45 40 yard dash at the outside linebacker position. he will need to learn how to change direction a little better in passing situations. athletically, he is a beast.

    8 ) Tenn- Prince Amumukmara
They spent a 1st round pickon a de last year, who got injured and should be back this year. They had jason babin and a DE named ball wreck shop last year. they should be good at DE. If fairley, cam, or gabbert is here that is there pick, they would choose them in a heart beat. None are here, so they choose an impact corner to help them stop peyton and schaub daddy. prince sounds like an impact player that can start from day one. he really is a PRince too.

    9) Dallas-
&%$ NOONE LEFT TRADES THE PICK LOL JK UHHHH... JJ WATT
Cowboys will fail to pick an O lineman and end up choosing a good defensive end for their 3-4. They might trade the pick to a team who wants julio really bad. god i hope they trade it or get julio.
    10) Washington-AJ GREEN WR
Best player available for a position of need.blatant need.
