Re: I said it before............
Nah.....We can build 'em.....it's the filling 'em we have a problem with.
The Dumpty Dome is the last 'old" stadium we have. It's about ~30 years old now. We just built new arenas for the Wild, Gopher Hockey, Gopher Womens Hockey and Tennis ,Gopher Football, and Twinkies (and we REALLY outdid ourselves with that gem), and the Vikes have been trying to get one for ~10 years now. The problem is we are out of money (not that that's ever stopped the dems around here), and Ziggy (the Vikes owner) wants us to finance his dream of "Ziggy World". He wants to build a little mini shopping/tourist trap area surrounding the stadium.
Personally, I would like to see the TV Networks kick in some dough. Hell....they already dictate when and where games are played, they might as well kick in too.

Re: I said it before............
Well the way the stadium is designed is that they keep the temperature inside the stadium relatively warm, so that when shit like snow, ice and sleet fall on the roof they are supposed to melt and just slide off the roof. But Im assuming that a snow fall of this magnitude was never really considered in the design process. Snow storms like this one only really come once every 20 years or more, last one being the 1991 Halloween blizzard. Someone forgot to turn the heat up on the place and keep it at that 75+ degree mark for it to work properly. Oh well, maybe its the final push Zigi needs to get a new stadium.
