Then again, I was against the Ledger casting too until I saw the trailer. One should not question The Nolan.

I bet she nails it.

I guess my harumph is that Catwoman is there at all. I was also cranky about the Riddler being the chosen villain (the rumors about Philip Seymour Hoffman playing the Penguin got me excited). Plus, I thought Maggie Gyllenhaal's performance really left a lot to be desired. I don't know why she gets so much respect as an actor. Katie Holmes was actually much better.

There were also rumors of Kristen Bell playing Harey Quinn, which I think would be a great homage to Ledger. Quinn could be portrayed basically as a copycat killer obsessed with the Joker.

Catwoman is a character that can be done really right, but historically has been done really really wrong. Every TV and movie depiction so far (save for maybe The Animated Series) was an obnoxious and lame exaggeration of the cat theme.

It would be intriguing if Catwoman is just a cat burglar who wears cat ears to mock Batman, kinda like "You're an animal, huh? Well me too! Nananana."

Likewise, someone had suggested a good idea for the Riddler is that he's actually hired by the police to lure Batman in with a bunch of puzzles he can't resist trying to solve.

I dont think Harley or catwoman fits in the Nolan verse. I'd much rather see her play Talia(Ra's daughter) than catwoman(would fit in the story better). I like Tom Hardy as Bane though, I think he'll do a good job. However, I was more excited about the chance of seeing Hugo Strange on screen(would also fit into the new Arkham game). Be nice to see Batman in a real fight for once. Last two films were about his mental battles as Batman(which is great), not much of a physical battle though.

With that said, I have full faith in Nolan.

I just noticed that they're not listing Hathaway as Catwoman. They're listing her as Selina Kyle. That likely means she won't BE Catwoman until the end of the film (Like with Two-Face) or possibly even the next movie.

As for whether Catwoman or Quinn fit, remember how many liberties Nolan had to take with Raz Al'Ghul (a wizard in the comics) to make him fit into his world. Catwoman or Quinn are no further stretches.

If they're going with Bane, Killer Croc isn't out of the question, and I think that character would be great in a realistic world, where instead of some gigantic crocodile he's just a kid with a really bad skin disorder (Trust me, there are plenty of skin disorders that can create scales. DON'T Google it).

In short, I don't think there's any character out of reach for Nolan. Except maybe Robin, due merely to the legal implications of subjecting a minor under your guardianship to constant physical and emotional harm.

The problem with Harley is that you need the Joker, and Nolan isn't doing a new Joker. As big of an impact as he made in the 2nd film Nolan isn't just going to mention him off screen when he's the biggest part of Harley's creation. Which leads me to believe she won't be there. If there's two female leads then I can see Selina as one(but no or little catwoman), and either Talia as the second or a new chick. There was rumor that there was gunna be a love triangle with Bruce and Gordan and some new chick. I say Talia only cause I hear they were looking at places in China to shoot, which may end up being a flash back scene with Talia and Bruce.

Not necessarily. Again, liberties. I mean, the truth is the Joker virtually ignores Quinn while she hangs all over him. I can envision Quinn having never actually met him, but simply getting obsessed on her own accord. Considering how many teenage girls want to have a vampire baby, it's really not much of a stretch.

Her features are all exaggerated like a bad carnival fun house experiment gone wrong.

Great actress though, so Im sure she'll do well. Hopefully better than Maggie Jiggly-Jello Gylenhall... How do you go from Katie Holmes to that?
