Things are more difficult then they need to be
As far as I can tell Microsoft intentionally stopped Windows 7 from being able to record stereo mix. I used to record stereo mix with Audacity on XP but with Windows 7 when I want to record stereo mix with Audacity or Camstudio I can't.
The only workaround I have found is Virtual Audio Cable and it costs $30 unless you want to to hear "trial" every 10 seconds.
Researching I have found a lot of people's laptops/desktops with on-board audio won't allow any kind of "stereo mix" under recording devices.
Why are companies trying to force you to buy separate hardware/sound cards/software to record what is happening on your own damn computer. The only reason I can find is to stop people from recording audio they don't own the rights to.Last edited by insanegammer109; 02-12-11 at 08:10 PM.
