good shit in here. heard most of it but some new stuff i haven't heard thats dope.
It's all about ODD FUTURE these days.
OFWGKTA
new rap group consisting of a bunch teenage skate rats. they are being called the new wu tang clan, but they deny that. stirring up a lot of news recently.
tyler and earl are my favorites, and i honestly think earl's solo album is better than nas' illmatic.
yeah, the lyrics are pretty racy so if it's too explicit then i'm sorry but try not to take them at face value.
if you like these you should check out tyler's album "bastard", free on their site.
here's their website where you can download everything but their newest singles for free.
they are nuts live... i might get to see them this summer (fingers crossed)
this is their famous/infamous video from jimmy fallon live:

I meant no more for for that time period
Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, Oh Fuck! Will God Kill These Animals, Golf Wang. Randomly stumbled upon these guys, but since Styley threw them up I though I'd throw up some of the members own singles. Honestly don't think much of them, I think they're overrated. But I do like their uniqueness and each member can hold his own pretty much.
Personally, I think Frank Ocean and Mellowhype seem to have great success if they were to ever go solo. Whether it goes to mainstream or stay underground, I think they'll start to get known more.
These are all from Odd Future.
Frank Ocean - I've been seeing people say he's the next Nate, I'll hold my opinion:
Mellowhype (Left Brain):
Hodgy Beats:
Tyler, The Creator (Wolf Haley) - His stuff may a little too much for some:
Earl Sweatshirt - Same as Tyler, might be too much for some:
Domo Genesis:
Mike G:
All of them - OFWGKTA:

Odd Future's pretty good for being new, Frank Ocean is bad tho (autotune = no). Lookin forward to Tyler, The Creator's new album and maybe a new Earl Sweatshirt album. EARL and Bastard were great releases which really got OF fame. Mellowhype also was well received but I haven't listened to it (Hodgy Beats & Left Brain)
They rap over the same Wu-Tang RZA beat I posted earlier; see page 3. Brand new song btw dropped like 2 days ago.
watch this interview, too. It's freakin hilarious.

Re: Speech Is My Hammer: Good Hip Hop
Going to keep this thread going by posting something a bit different.
I don't know if many, if any, of you guys are at all familiar with the Japanese hip hop scene. Japanese hip hop, in my opinion, especially in terms of the beats, has a really fresh sound to it; at least with some of the better artists. I've tried to figure out a way to describe it but the best that I can do is say they've taken soul, funk, and old school-esque hip hop and created their own blend of pop party style hip hop. Granted, unless you know Japanese, you can't understand what they're saying; though they do sometimes integrate English into their raps.
As a side note, I find it really sad when you read the YouTube comments for videos like these. Ignorant thugs dissing the music, even implying it isn't even hip hop, because it's not in the English language. As if hip hop is, or could ever be, limited to the English language...
Rhymester - Last VerseI already posted some tracks that were produced by Nujabes, a Japanese hip hop producer and DJ, but here are some another great Japanese hip hop producer/DJ named DJ Muro. Here are a couple of the tracks he produced for the anime Tokyo Tribe 2. I'd recommend checking out the entire OST if you like the tracks.
Rhymester - Come On
Dabo - Good Morning Zipang
Big-O & DJ Watarai ft. Lupe Fiasco - City Wings
Suiken ft. Bird - Senya Tsukiusa
DJ Muro ft. Ghostface, Raekwon & Trife Da God - The Roosevelts
DJ Muro ft. Big-O, Suiken, & Chieflow - V.I.P.
