well the good news is you change the throwout bearing when you change the clutch at the same time!

    Re: Car assistance please

Checked it out with my dad and we've come to the conclusion that it's the belt causing the noise. It's all gummed up and crappy. The oil change place I used to take my car to had overfilled the reservoir. Noticed it a while back and got it back to the normal level but figure that the belt got leaked on. Doesn't seem like it's loosing fluid now so hopefully no seals are broken. Gonna clean off the belt and see how much it helps. Might just be a good $5 fix for now.

Dare I start in on Fords... (Chevy fan boy here :P) But I do agree that your issue is probably that your clutch throw out has finally had it. If you do replace it replace your pilot as well so it doesnt start this whole screaming thing again 4k after you fix the TO and Clutch.

    Re: Car assistance please

so, no sound change when pushing in the clutch, no change messing with the ac, no change as rpms changed, turning the wheels made a slight difference, the belt had some crud on it too.
A few months back I had noticed my Power steering was over filled (thanks to the oil change place) so I siphoned it down to a normal level. Figure the fluid had leaked onto the belt so tried cleaning it off with some belt conditioner stuff, didn't make any difference with the noise (it was a long shot).
Deciding on whether to run it until it explodes (again) or try to sell it as is. =(

Well your making progress narrowing it down. Have you considered the possibility of tensioner pulley bearing, idoler pully bearing, and timing belt tensioner bearing? The timing belt one hardly ever goes out but its always a possibility. If you know its coming from the front of the engine a good way to figure out which one ia fucked is to spray them one at a time on the back side with a lube until it goes away. Keep in mind do not spray the alt, power steering and emissions pump. In 20 sum years i have never seen one of those bearing go bad so it would only add lubrication to the system that isnt needed. Also spray the ac last.

See if you can get a recording of the noise or get my number from the private section and give me a call i might be able to tell by the sound.
