US Women's soccer playing Brazil
US scored an early goal (1:19) and was playing exceptionally well until a bogus red card was pulled on the US giving Brazil a penalty kick. Hope Solo (our goalie) blocks the kick, but the officials said she moved off her line too quickly (which the replay shows is a bull shit call) so they got another penalty shot and make it.
1-1 now and the US is playing a man (woman) down 10v11. with 5 mins left in regulation.
LET'S GO USA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The penalty was a shit call, there was no penalty there at all. Once it was called though, the red had to be given (denying a goal scoring opportunity by the last women, automatically a red). The PK was for encroachment, which yes there was a slight encroachment by a USA player, but its almost never called. Shit I've seen worse that wasn't called.
The set-up to the 2nd goal was offside, but it wasn't an easy call imo. Marta made an amazing play there no matter, 99.9% of the time there wouldn't be a goal there (I can't think of many that could do what she did there).
The worst was Erika's faking injury. What a unsporting thing by Brazil, complete and utter bullshit. There is time wasting, and then there is that. Glad she got a yellow, though I wish it could of been a red. Glad to see Karma was in full force with the tying goal scored in the time that was added on for that shit, and leading to Brazil losing =D

They had like what, 4 injuries in the last 5 mins? Then that blonde bitch laid on the ground forever, gets put on a stretcher, then immediately unstraps herself from the stretcher as she's being carried off, and goes back into the game. Why is that only a yellow card?

Re: US Women's soccer playing Brazil
This times a billion
It's sad really, because I thoroughly enjoy watching the world cups and the olympic soccer games, but other than that I can't really get into it.
FIFA needs to be completely overhauled. Officiating is bitched about in every sport, it's only natural, but holy shit is it bad in soccer. On top of that, I believe that FIFA doesn't even review questionable calls after the game, and no report of why a call was made is mandatory.
It sucked that it had to come down to the US playing a man down for a majority of the game, but I'm almost glad it happened this way. This was a prime example and reflection of the American attitude of never backing down and accepting the challenge.
