Thread: Hackers strike

So, I was playing AoC today, and I come across a guy a level over me who's a necro like me. He ends up calling me, and I don't pay much heed at force. I mean, it's a PVP game on a PVP server so big deal. Then, he starts camping my spawn. Now, AoC has this magically little shield that protects you when you spawn. So, I use it, get up to full strength, and then I attack. I get him down to 50% health, and then it stops going down. I have 8 of my minions on him, he's wearing cloth armor with only maybe 2000hp max, and it stops going down. Now, at first I thought maybe he was just kiting, but then I remembered necro minions like mine are faster than players running. Even when I teamed up with another guy who was getting ganked by him who could easily tank him while I did the killing, he didn't die, and that was with my tank dealing damage as well.

Eventually, I start running away. No point in sticking around if that's going to happen (at this point I thought he was just better than me). He comes after me, so I let him "sprint" up to me. Then, I sprint away. I should have outdistanced him since I had more stamina, but he actually pulled ahead of me and killed me again doing some crazy damage (1000hp in a sec), which is impossible for a necro. Necros are powerful, but in terms of DoT not burst.

I'm still thinking he's legit so I choose to spawn else where and go do another quest. I'm across the map from where I was before, and he finds me. We're talking with mountains in between us. He kills me; I spawn back in the safety of town. I then see him watching me from out of town. I'm invisible, out of view, and have moved a great deal in such a state. The entire time I see him turning to track me. That's the point where I thought, "It's like he has walls on like in TF2 or CSS."

I'm doubtful though because I'm in an MMO. I google it though, and sure enough, there are hacks. Radar, speed hacks, you name it. Then, it all makes sense.
