I got a call from a guy saying his car wont start and that its been to 2 shops via wrecker. Both concluding his timing belt has to be replaced. One quotes him 700 and the other 1000. So i ask him if he is near the car and if he can crank it for me. I immediately tell him his timing belt is fine but i dont know over the phone what the issue is.

I have to guess he is a backtard mechanic, no thats not misspelled, and bets me 200 bucks i cant come figure out. His words were ill give you 200 bucks if you can get it to start without replacing the timing belt. So i took his bet and went to look.

After 5 minutes of looking i take my 5 gallon gas can and put gas in the tank, started it up, and asked for my 200. I will give him one thing he was a man of his word and gave me my money.

He calls me on my way home to tell me its overheating and wants me to fix it. So tuesday i get to go actually work on the car and get paid. Im guessing thats going to take longer to fix seeing as he said water was coming from the bottom of the water pump. Either way its a good deal i got paid and got more work out of it.

Hell no. To the best of my knowledge he spent 130 in hook up fees for wrecker plus mileage, some shops will look for free, and what he paid me is 330 minimum for someone to tell him he was out of gas.
