In case you didn't hear, 30 of our soldiers from the Navy SEALs, air force, and army were killed yesterday. They're not sure if it was a crash or from hostile fire. (Al Qaeda/Taliban are claiming they did it.)
Double Take toons generally does some satirically cartoons on American politics, but this time, they did one in honor of those 30. RIPenf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

This is truly a sad story. These people were true heroes. Although there are always associated risks being in the armed forces, this kind of news always breaks my heart.

Re: RIP
Read the article. Really only generates more questions about the reasoning behind the structure of the mission.
The o.O part of it is this though:
Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has decided to release the names, ranks and hometowns of the special operations forces killed in the crash, despite objections by the Special Operations Command, Pentagon spokesman Colonel David Lapan said.
The commanders were concerned about the safety of special forces families, Reuters has reported.
Lapan said he expected the names to be published by the Pentagon by Thursday morning.

Re: RIP
Supposedly none of the guys who were in the Bin Laden raid were on this helicopter, just members of the same team. But, I have never heard of this many seals in one helicopter for a mission like that. WTF!? Wouldn't a blackhawk or something be a better platform for this type of mission. This large amount of seals together would typically be using multiple helicopters. Again, wtf?
