I was checking the news and it would appear the emmys were tonight. So basically i was just curious if anyone really gives a shit about emmys, oscars, and so forth? They already make bank so whats with needing an award to show for it? It nothing more then a show pony thing in my opinion.

emmy's oscar's they all mean the same thing to me: nothing. I don't even know the difference between the two.

The only one I like to watch are the academy awards (aka Oscars).

Emmys = Tv
Oscars = Movies

Awards are awards they are to recognize talent and/or work. The whole process of making a good movie isn't so easy.

And the U.S. is the mecca or modern Entertainment. people need to be acknowledge for their work not just some text in a movie that is view all over the world.

Meh, it was pretty cool when I heard that Peter Dinklage won an Emmy for best supporting actor for his role in Game of Thrones, but other than that I really didn't give a shit.
