He did manage to make a whole lot of money while creating plenty of jobs outside the US to increase profit margins. Lets also not forget this had nothing to do with a humanitarian mission.

For the record im not a steve jobs hater. When gates dies i will be here saying the same thing because after all computers were already here.

Actually, you are wrong. It is well known steve jobs took time off, back packed in India, and basically ate shrooms (true story, seriously) which gave him the visions of the new Apple products. It's also a well known fact that he was a master of Caligraphy (sp?) which he put towards the smooth and disciplined design of apple products.

Make no mistake, without steve jobs, there would be no amazing Computer Friendly iPad, Phone, Pod, etc...

The incredible legacy of Steve Jobs: From the mouse to the iPad | Technology News Blog - Yahoo! News
    How it all started
Jobs — along with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne — founded Apple in 1976. The first computers were simplistic but revolutionary for their time. Then in 1984, the company introduced the Macintosh 128K, the first mainstream computer that abandoned text-only commands in favor of a graphical user interface. Along with it came the mouse, a device which is so crucial to modern computing that it hasn't changed in nearly three decades.

Thats hypothetical. There is no way to know it would not have happened seeing as computers had touch screen prior to the i phone and cell phones were here before the i phone. As for my creation and who can take credit well it sits 12 feet from me and its all mine because i did all the work. Im missing one piece well actually 16 pieces of the same item. If others had helped me even under my company name they would be given credit for developement. Of which even Jobs did. Its people outside of it giving all the credit to him.

Pretty much states right there he didn't do it alone. Also says apple was founded in 1976. The first desk size computer meant for personel use was made in 1974 by MITS.

    Now go lick your wounds.

    Re: RIP Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs was a modern day Thomas Edison......and before DG starts, Edison had assistants too.

We can pretty much thank him for Windows too.....as it was originally the Mac OS that Gates ripped off.

He was also an incredible asshole, and his shit company reflects that. If Apple sold cars, you would only be able to drive on Apple owned roads.

Still....mad props to a guy who built a $350 billion company from scratch....and made computers and tech accessible to the masses. He didn't just invent gadgets, he made them easy enough to use so that everybody could take advantage. He was a genius, an innovator, a dickhead, and the closest thing to a modern day Edison that we will likely see. But still a douche.

Say what I will....no-one deserves to die the way he did, and very few do it with as much grace.

I could not have said this better myself. VERY well put Dex. I hate 90 percent of his products (as you all know) but the man did revolutionize the mobile computing industry.
