Xav, Xav, Xav. Couple things....
1. You're fun and kinda easy to troll ;p
2. I'm not twisting anything. Nor am I attempting to minimize Jobs' role in computing. Simply bringing it back to reality.
3. You might want to go back and check who actually developed the mouse and GUI first. Just saying.
4. Is Jobs a huge figure in computing? Yes. Undeniably. Is he the most important or revolutionary person the industry's history? Not in my opinion.
5. I don't hate Jobs or Apple. I've have never owned an Apple product. However I have had to work with them and support them for years.
6. This is not being written on an iPhone.
7. I have never owned an iPod.
8. And my first smart phone (and PDA) were both touch screen devices and both pre-dated the iPod,touch, phone.
But anyway, ignore the facts I've provided and continue to "omg you hate Apple and Jobs"
LOL

Re: RIP Steve Jobs
I didnt say anything about the mouse. I said the computer. Seeing as you wanted to act all knowing and insulting let me educate you a bit.
"Following PARC the first GUI-centric computer operating model was the Xerox 8010 Star Information System in 1981, followed by the Apple Lisa (which presented the concept of menu bar as well as window controls) in 1983"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphical_user_interface
"The trackball was invented by Tom Cranston, Fred Longstaff and Kenyon Taylor working on the Royal Canadian Navy'sDATAR project in 1952."

Don’t waste time guys...deathgod is just arguing for argument's sake.
This is like saying: "Hey Dr. Albertson didn’t find the cure for AIDS!! It was the 44 chimps, 234 lab rats, 68 monkeys and 55 pigs he tested on that found the cure for AIDS!! yeaaaa!"

Re: RIP Steve Jobs
Apple didn't invent the computer....they put one in every house, and a dozen in every school. Who here (old enough to remember) had Apple IIe's in their school? Oregon Trail anyone?
Apple made computers that were easy enough for Mrs. Johnson to use....as well as her 5 year old. They took the machines out of the office and put them in the home...all before the internet was invented. Most people's first ever experience with a personal computer was most likely an Apple product.

*Click* (post quick reply)
LOL
The reality is, he revolutionized computing...he made it possible for the common housewife to do what you nerds can do in a minute. Yea, you had mini disc before you had an iPod....you had mmmmm kindle? before you had an iPad ...Compare any product predating the iPod, the iPad the iMac and the iPhone...and they’re all pretty much inferior.
So this technological revolution...this revolution that made it possible for the common housewife or a kid or a businessman or anyone else that’s not necessarily tech savvy...to do what YOU can do with your android phone and your dinosaur computer even faster than you can...well...that in itself is revolutionary. Making our lives easier with products that makes communication worldwide easier...that’s revolutionary.
