10-20-11, 09:40 PM #1Hybrid Civic?
Ok I'm going through the used car sites for the boston area and I'm seeing a few used hybrid civics. Any one have anything one way or the other?
Or a different hybrid? or avoid them all together. or what? Price range is tight. 15k would be really pushing it I'd prefer like 13k+/-

Cars for Sale: 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid in Danvers, MA 01923: Sedan Details - 306538133 - AutoTrader.com'm also looking at it like this. I need to take out a new loan and for $30 a month on the loan I'll spend $30+ less a month in gas costs for the life of the car...assuming it gets further than the 30 minutes beyond my last car's last payment.
But the environment would be good to save too. Fuel costs though is my primary concern.

10-22-11, 10:38 PM #9Well now I'm not even looking at the hybrids any longer. A friend made the argument that the long term knowledge of them isn't really there. 5 years of experience won't show really how reliable and how readily available the replacement parts etc would be. And how expensive repairs could run.
Last night I test drove a Ford focus ses it was pretty nice. It was a 2011 with 30k miles on it. So it was 17.9 asking price. I'm going tomorrow to look at a few 2010 sel trim focuses. They are under 16.5 with roughly the same mileage. We shall see. Maybe by Tuesday I will be back in a Ford. The last Ford I had I bought from my uncle, it was an 01 I bought it in 04 with 130k miles on it. It just died this summer on my sister as it hit the 200k mark. So if I can take one of these focuses and bring em to 200k over the next 7-10 years I'd be happy.

Re: Hybrid Civic?
My first ford i ever owned was a 1991 f150, my uncle bought it brand new then gave it to me when i turned 16, I traded it in last year with 213000miles on it for 1000$ and it was still running like new...Fords are good cars if u catch the right one.
On a side note, im going to be in Northborough MA in a week or so helping with the opening of our new store (Wegmans) U should come in and see it....
