So is duck good or not. I have heard people say its great and the same amount of people say they rather eat poop. What's the best way to cook it?

Duck is good if prepared well. It is a little greasy though. Can be gamey. I like it, though. Only had it at French restaurants so far though.

Maybe I should shoot one in the head while deer hunting. I hunt next to lake and see plenty of wood ducks

Would probably be easier to just take a shotgun with you.

Also, I think a few pages back, Nuckle mentioned wrapping chunks of the meat in bacon and grilling those. I think you could also find some good asian recipes for duck.

Also, as far as deer goes. What do all of you think of taking philo dough and layering it with minced deer meat and then topping it with a molle sauce or another type of sauce (open to recommendations). My friends and I still have sooooooooo much deer meat and we're trying to get creative with cooking it.

I know we're going to take some flank steaks and make jerky. Those should be soooooooooooo tasty.

Duck can be good or bad depending on the type of duck and how it is prepared. I religiously hunted and ate ducks daily(when the season was open) for over 15 years. Most ducks can be cooked in a crockpot with veggies and spuds and gravy mix put in it and be excellent meals and you never know its even duck hardly. That being said, a few ducks can taste very gamey and need alittle help, usually the diving ducks have a stronger gamey taste to them and honestly when I would go hunting I wouldn't even bother shooting them unless I was gonna mount them. I was brought up old school so if you were not gonna eat it you don't kill it. Now the puddle ducks, mallards, teal, ect ect are very good to eat IMO and can be cooked in a abundance of ways and still be very good tasty meals. The 2 best ways to cook ducks and geese IMO are crockpot as explained before(always my fav) and the other best way(for the greesy/gamier ducks and geese) is to bake fillet strips of breast with medium or hot salsa, and a few side dishes.

My wife does something similar and it's great. I will have to get back to you with what exactly she does with it.
