Re: Week 13 BCS Standings
The AP can rank them, however the BCS and coaches cannot. I did hear on espn that there is something in the formula to take USC's inelligibility to be ranked into account.
And While I see your reasoning about OSU/Oregon, OSU is a one loss team. Oregon has lost twice (most recently at home). And even while OSU lost to a crappier team, it was on the road in double overtime. That's my guess at their reasoning.

Re: Week 13 BCS Standings
lol, not sure how, but my team VT is 5th! Probably don't deserve it, and if we get a bowl berth other than the Orange Bowl, it most likely won't be pretty. Hate betting against my team, but I just don't know if they're good enough to be 5th right now.

Using team offense/defense to look at some of the "contenders":
LSU beats (total offense rank;total defense rank): Oregon (7;69), @Mississippi St. (87;50), @VWU (28;26), Kentucky (117;63), Florida (92;17), @Tennessee (97;35), Auburn (93;81), @Alabama (27;1), Western Kentucky (99;54), @Ole Miss (114;94)
Arkansas: New Mexico (110;117), Troy (91;109), Texas A&M (4;76), Auburn (above), @Ole Miss (above), @Vandy (100;20), South Carolina (78;5), Tennessee (above), Mississippi St. (above)
Alabama: Kent St (119;22), @Penn St (89;8), North Texas (101;102), Arkansas (18;44), @Florida (above), Vandy (above), @Ole Miss (above), Tennessee (above), @Mississippi St. (above)
Oklahoma St: ULL (70;60), Arizona (19;111), @Tulsa (16;83), @Texas A&M (4;76), Kansas (94;120), @Texas (80;10), @Mizzou (10;80), Baylor (3;114), K-State (94;77), @Texas Tech (12;115)
I'll do the rest tomorrow, by the those numbers though I really wish Ok St. would of won that game. Ok St. vs. LSU would of been really interesting match-up.Last edited by Red_Lizard2; 11-23-11 at 06:15 PM.

Re: Week 13 BCS Standings
So apparently I've been wrong this entire time about only two SEC schools getting into BCS games. According to ESPN, the ONLY way to have more than two teams (from the same conference) in any given bcs games, is to have an sec conference champion, plus having the OTHER TWO (who are not conference champs) ranked #1 and #2 in the bcs polls. Ergo, if LSU beats Arkansas, and loses to UGA in the SEC title game, UGA gets an auto bid (most likely the sugar bowl). Bama would move up to #1, and if LSU were only to drop to #2, then all three (LSU, bama and UGA) would get to play in a BCS game.
While I do like Va Tech, their schedule is softer than a baby's ass. If LSU were to lose a close one in Atlanta (going into the game undefeated), I would hope they would only fall to #2. I'd be pissed if they put bama in the title game ahead of LSU against a Va Tech or OSU.
