Re: Most Important Feature On Mouse
I picked "other" but its actually a combination of three of your choices.
Ergonomics, certainly. You want to have a mouse that actually is comfortable to use.
A fair amount of buttons for binding to gadgets and the weapons i switch to most. This works great in every game i have except BF3, mapping to the side buttons on my g500 is a crap shoot. The only button that works properly (outside of L/R and middle/wheel) is the forward side button at least that will bring me back to my primary weapon quickly and reliably in all classes.
And DPI switch on the fly in a comfortable location. My last mouse, the death adder, had a DPI switch but it was located on the bottom of the mouse making it useless for a quick switch in game.Last edited by SpecOpsScott; 12-25-11 at 11:26 AM.

Re: Most Important Feature On Mouse
I chose buttons. It was hard to put ergonomics 2nd, but I must have at least 7 buttons on my mouse for how I play. In BF3 I use my DPI buttons on my G9 for switching between items. I could never go back to a 5 button setup so that was the deciding factor for me.

Ergonomics. Period. You need to be comfortable with it in your hand or it won't move around well enough.
Buttons are fine and dandy but they don't stop you from doing well. I can use voice on my keyboard well enough.
Aesthetics are overtly pointless.
DPI can be changed and isn't really necessary, DPI on the fly just means you have to try less.
The wire varies from mouse to mouse so it isn't a big deal.
if I were to make an other it would be a smooth underside that makes the mouse hover on any surface.

Re: Most Important Feature On Mouse
I voted buttons, but specifically the ergonomics of the thumb buttons. The thumb buttons have to be perfectly placed in relation to my grip in order for me to use them. I have 3 on my current mouse and have another that has 4. Really liked the other mouse but just couldn't work the thumb buttons fast enough.

Re: Most Important Feature On Mouse
Don't care much about how it looks and prefer wired for gaming but all the rest are important to me.
Ergonomics - if it feels bad, you'll never use it well
Buttons - I have the G9 and need at least this many. And I use the DPI settings mostly for the soflam since it rotates so damn slow
DPI - See above
The two that are missing is tracking/smoothness. If it doesn't track well, it's no good. If it doesn't move smoothly, it throws off FPS. I'm annoyed with my logitech G9 because it never seems move completely smoothly imo.
