Need Help: First Time Installation of Upgrades

I received the following new components for Christmas this year (ref this thread):

    1. Motherboard: ASUS LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX
    2. CPU: Core i5 2500K LGA 1155
    3. GPU: XFX Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5
    4. PSU: XFX Core Edition 650W
    5. RAM: G.SKILL Value Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333

The only item I actually have installed before is the RAM. As such, is there a recommended online guide(s), whether text+picture and/or video, for someone installing these for the first time? Should I even be installing these myself or should I perhaps inquire about someone in this community from Houston giving me a hand?

Open the motherboard, and there will be instructions, with pictures, to guide you through it. Just do it in reverse to pull the old stuff out. The biggest thing is make sure you power down, and release any static charge build up, before touching anything.

The motherboard guide will guide me through the installation and the CPU. Though, noob that I am, it does appear that I need some Thermal Interface Material for the CPU installation. Recommendations?

Unless basic net searches for the guides will suffice, I'll still need a guide for the installation of the GPU and PSU.

The stock cooler on the i5 comes with thermal paste already on it.

And as Civil said, the motherboard manual tells you how to install everything.

Ah, good. Saves me the trouble of having to purchase it and wait for to come in. I'm wanting to get these upgrades installed by this week.

The motherboard manual I have doesn't say anything about the installation of the GPU or PSU. Just provides information on the PCI slots and ATX power connectors.

The PSU is pretty easy, it probably only has 4 screws. Just make a mental, or written, note of what you disconnect power from, then reconnect power to the same things. As for the GPU there will only be probably 2 slots that are the proper size on the Mobo, so just read in the manual or on the board to see which one to use if you are only doing a single card, and make sure to connect power to the GPU.

There are two connectors you'll need to use to connect the PSU to the MOBO.

The 24 pin ATX main and probably the 4 pin ATX +12 or possibly the 8 pin EPS (doubtful).

You'll also see the 6 pin and 8 pin (or 6+2 which can be used as a 6 or as an 8) PCI express for the video card.

All about the various PC power supply cables and connectors

Make sure that all your fans get plugged in too.

Not sure how good this is but it looks fairly decent.

    Hmmm...

I'm at the opening BIOS and it's saying my CPU temp is 85C.

EDIT: Nevermind, heat sink fan was loose for some reason. Down betwen 50-55deg now.

I also apparently need a different cable to connect my CD drive to my new motherboard. There was no connector for the one I have.
