Thread: Tracert High ping first hop

I've been having this intermittent problem where I will lag/timeout badly.
when it was really bad I ran a tracert and my first hop was ~1800ms, second was ~700, and it was good for the rest of the trip.
Next time it happens I will post the tracert in here.

Is there anything I can do on my end to alleviate this issue?
I have no access to the network hardware; my apartment messes with all that.
