Thread: video card might be dying ?

so last couples days been having some issues. and not sure if my card is gonna die or whats going on. but 2 mornings ago i turn on my comp and the display wont come up for nothing.
restarting and taking out the card putting it back in didnt work. few hours later it worked and was fine till last night.

was playing my game and getting wierd graphic glitches so i restarted my machine. and the display wouldnt fire up now in the morning its running again. but leads me to belive my card is gonna die. or am i wrong hopefully i am cause i cant really afford a new card. its not over heating not hot to the touch temp stays a bit under 60 Celsius while i'm in game. so is my card on its last legs or is there a way i can fix things?


also maybe if someones got an old video card for somewhat cheap i'd be looking for a 5770 2gig or better if someone might have one or a slightly better one laying around

Is there a reason you need the 2 GB version?

not sure its what i got now and im running games not at the best settings but above medium

I have a friend that has a 1GB he is likely willing to part with... but likely no less than $100. If that interests you, let me know.

well not sure how much if any money i'll have this coming month but if i do get money to buy one i'll let you know

If his card is indeed dying, I see no reason not to get a 2GB version.

it probably needs a good dusting no cash right now for a can of spray but i dont think that would stop the display from coming up ?

You'd be surprised. I'd try to get a can of air somehow, they're not expensive.

..if you have anyone with an air compressor.... they work tons better than a can of air.....
