Mountain of cash for video card does not equal good choice.
I love my ATI 4890, omg if I freaking ran two of these....
plagh... is the GT 560 or 540 a laptop chip? I don't remeber, Nvidia showed off some cards at CES. I asked the guy like a bimbo, i just want a good card that will last. He show cased the GT 580, I compared it to the 560 or 540, don't remeber, and they pulled off great performance at 4x less the price.Dispatch the DooM

If your budget was a little higher (like 2000$) I would give you a deal on my current rig (minus a few parts to meet in the middle).

i7 2600Kwon't net you any real benefit for gaming over the i5 2500K. Take a look at various sites like Tom's, Anandtech, Extremetech... In addition, it will cost you $100 more. You'd be better off taking that $100 and putting it towards either an improved video card or SSD.
If you're budget doesn't allow an SSD, I have absolutely no doubt you'd be better off getting the i5 over i7 and getting the SSD for games. You still need a standard drive for large files, videos...
If you have the money for a solid video card (or two), ssd, 8 GB to 16 GB RAM and the extra $100 for the i7, I'd do it.Last edited by RhysJD3; 02-14-12 at 06:37 PM.

I agree whole heartedly that you should spend the extra $100 on the GPU.
