    GTX 570 SLI - Fail

So I bought a second GTX 570 for SLI on my computer. With BF3 and Diablo 3, it would barely increase my overall FPS. It would basically use both at around 50% load. If I would play single player, my FPS would get around 80% higher in BF3. Not sure where this went wrong but I'm thinking Vram and other factors (1.2 GB VRAM).

    Anyone else have these issues?

Not exactly sure what you are saying. You don't get an increase in MP but do in SP? Makes sense to me since you have AI running around in SP but MP the server and other peoples machines handle a lot more. I don't know what resolution you run at but I run at 1080p and my 570 gtx caps all settings and gets great FPS in both games. MWO on the other hand would probably do worse.

I'm at 1080p with most settings very high and getting 60-90 FPS with either SLI enabled or not. Checked to make sure both cards were running and they are. Basically a single card runs at 98% or two run on average at 50%.

I dont know a ton about SLI setups or crossfire because i have never ran one but depending on your motherboard when two cards are used they will run at 8x and 8x where a single card would run at 16x. I don't know exactly what that means as far as performance but i know that they are not running at full potential at least i think unless you get a motherboard that allows both cards to run at 16x. Like i said i dont rly know what im talking about but this could be what your ruining into.

What are the specs of your system? What processor do you have and how much memory?

I don't think BF3 should cause your GPU utilization to be at 98%, but I could be wrong. I had my 570s overclocked, but on high settings, I would run 60-90FPS, but at 2560x1440 resolution. At 1080p, I was pushing a solid 130-140FPS, and could crank the settings up to Ultra.

Something just isn't adding up here. I am wondering if you have something else that is limiting your performance. I have heard about CPUs restricting or bottlenecking performance regardless of the GPU configuration. This was common for people using the Q6600 at stock clocks. Once they overclocked to about 3.5-3.6GHz, they started to get higher gains from their GPUs.

I was able to run BF3 on Ultra with one of my 6970s at 1920x1200.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

I have an i7 920 with 6 GB RAM. CPU rarely shows any substantial usage but it may be more it's core bound to one or two of the 8...

I'm curious too what if anything is bottlenecking me. The VRAM shows 1.1 GB of usage in BF3 but I should have more headroom. Low clock cycles? Older x58 chipset? Got me guys. I'd think I should be able to do better...

x58 chipset was specifically designed for SLI/CrossFire setups because it has three x16 PCI Express ports.

Are you overclocking it at all? The 920 stock is what, 2.8GHz? I bet if you raised your clock to 3.5GHz or higher, it would be better.

I'm an air cooled so I don't think I could get it that high. Yeah, the x58 is a good board but something is holding me up. Again, in single player it went up by what'd I'd expect...
