I used the web tab browser and calculator. There's different themes and colors. You can set up quick laungh, one click, personal buttons on the right. The Engineering shows CPU, memory, harddrive, and other specs, Photo viewers looks just like the shows, My computer looks great. color coded and displays file type. Can set a timber for shutdown/logoff/hibernate/ or red alert. All windows can be managed via tabs on the top, displays battery life, time date, and can do much more.
Got it on my laptop and my desktop. Don't even half to install just run the main .exe. And when you oper certain option and it ask if you want to comfrim tell it not to ask again with the specific exe.
I can even leave it up and run TS, calibrate my joystick, then jump into BF3 with no issues going in, playing, and exiting.Dispatch the DooM

Win 8
I installed it on my rig. Restored the Start Menu (using ClassicShell.sourceforge.net), set the metro ui thing to not start unless I pull it up so now I have it acting like Windows 7.
Positives:
Boots WAY faster.
Application launch WAY faster.
Games (Borderlands 2, Call of Duty Black Ops II and Battlefield 3) all run better, faster, more fps.
Negatives:
Driver issues with Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-fi Titanium. So I ended up going with onboard sound for speakers and my Logitech G35 headphones.
NVidia driver issue with FXAA turned on in the nVidia control panel which makes config menus like PC Setting to display wrong. Had to turn off FXAA if I wanted to change startup screen or other setting then turn back on.
To me the positives are outweighing the negatives big time.
Oh, and by registering at the upgrade website featured on lifehacker.com (sorry for not having link but research it) I got $25 off Window 8 Pro and only paid $16 after tax.
Best $16 upgrade ever. But if I had paid $40 like most people I would have felt the same. Well worth it.
If anyone wants me to write a review with stats and numbers from a gamers perspective let me know. I can try to whip one together.

Win 8
Had to play my Batman Arkham City in "windowed full screen" instead of full screen but other than that smooth sailing on that title as well.
